beautiful old building with lovely furnishings, colnial feel. Fantastic swimming pool and spa available to guests. Free wifi was available but i didn't have a laptop so had to pay $3 per half hour in business centre for internet access- there should be computers available for free internet access. I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The welcoming drink upon arrival was much appreciated and we were upgraded to a better room, which was gerat! lovely cosmetics available in the bathroom too, and a great shower. The room was beautifully furnished, as the whole hotel was- it had a diffferent feel to ither 5 star hotels and as guests, we were made to feel very special while we stayed there.
Hotel Feature Tip : Happy hour in the Elephant bar is from 4 to 8pm, with half price drinks and a piano player. A great way to unwind- I'd recommend the champagne cocktail Femme Fatale!

Beautiful hotel. Old world and nicely restored. Good location in the city so it is easy to see the sites and then return periodically to the hotel. Pool is a pleasure to return to after a hot day. Staff in particular is comparable to any I have experienced in the world.

They have a very decent pool table at the bar. And happy hour (half price) from 6pm to 8pm. A hotel for more mature age We stayed 3 days and 2 nites at the Le Royal. It is a very unique hotel with very strong french colonial style. it was built in the 1929. Staff are very attentive. Althou when you asked where to dine in phnom penh, they always recommend you to try the hotel fine dinning. The room is reasonable size. All in all, it gives us a very strong colonial feeling and an impression of the rich and the poor. Sometimes we feel a bit uncomfortable for travelers staying in such fancy colonial style hotel while the locals outside can't even come inside the gate and obviously they are far less fortuante than most of us.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Since you are staying in a fancy hotel, the tuk tuk drivers normally charge you more than double to and from the Raffles. From the hotel to riverside, we paid USD 3 but normally should be USD 1 or max 2. The driver would say this is an expensive hotel, means you can pay more. Anyway, not few dollars doesn't make much different but is something to be aware of.
