Wouldn't stay again, service & standards poor

Arrived and checked in, when taken to our room there were a half a dozen women and young girls just hanging out in there watching tv, they all filed out and one came from the bathroom as the toilet flushed, it stunk like, yeah that. There was a wet towel on the floor that appeared to be soaking up water that was leaking from the handle of the bidet hose, there was water on the floor everywhere. We had to change rooms to stay a second night, we were told they didn't have any more of the room type we were in but did have a more expensive room. Couldn't be bothered moving so seaside would take it for a few dollars more. They next morning I checked Agoda just to see, and saw that we were lied too and they did have more of the same rooms. On top of this, we could not get a straight answer from any staff about moving our stuff to the new room, and upon overhearing our conversation, another guest warned us about moving rooms, saying that he had seen them take other bookings and then leave people stranded with their bags just sitting in the lobby (pub with wide open street access) despite all of this we were more focused on our day of sightseeing so we took the chance. When we got back that afternoon, we had the room but as soon as we walked in the smell from the bathroom of mould and whatever else was quite overpowering. I think I've said enough, the lack of staff communication skills, deceit from management about available rooms and the poor room conditions make this place one to avoid.

This was my 2nd visit to this hotel and I was just as impressed as last time. The owner, Harry, a Yank, is a lovely guy as are many of the ex-pats around and the lovely ladies on the staff. The best feature is the swimming pool which, in spite of tall buildings is swathed in Sunshine for many daylight hours. It is convenient for night life and girlie bars and not far from several markets.
