A precious little colonial boutique hotel nestled along the roads of Mao Tse Tung Boulevard. Fell absolutely in love with the decor of the hotel: first thing that took my breath away was its lavish lobby, along with its beautifully landscaped courtyard, pool, and sprawling balconies. Fantastic service staff with commendable English skills too. Only down side it the location; I honestly don't think it's that far from the city centre and major attractions, but for some reason, the tuk-tuk drivers never seem to be able to locate it. A possible solution would be to call up the hotel and let them guide the driver. It worked so much better when I did that.

A beautiful building but a disappointing hotel

This hotel was the greatest disappointment of my Asian trip. My room was Number 11, a cramped attic room with nothing "Superior" about it. The bathroom taps were not properly mounted and wobbled ! There was a desk but no room for a chair. There was no wardrobe and nowhere to hang your clothes. It would have been cramped as a single, as a double it was unacceptable.I invited one of the managing staff into the room, showed him the faulty plumbing and challenged him to show me where I could hang my clothes up. He couldn't do it.There is no lift and part of the upper staircase has no handrail which As a 76 year old I need.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Don't take Room 11. The hotel is recently opened but they still have a lot to learn

Stayed at the Governors House for 3 nights. Had a most enjoyable stay due to the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The breafast was simple but adequate.

お湯が温いとか、テラスに出るドアが閉まらないとか、ジェットバスは派手に泡を吹き周りは水浸しになるとか、ライティングデスクはおろか、椅子もないとか、そんな些細なこと?はこの際どうでもよいと思える魅力がこのホテルにはある
コロニアル様式の屋敷のような建物が醸す情緒とサービスは、値段を考えると最高評価ができる
早い時間にチェックインしたにも関わらず、「あと10分で部屋が清掃できるから」といって、飲み物が出され、霧吹きのついた扇風機をプールサイドに持って来てくれる
2階の部屋を一生懸命掃除しているのがプールから見える
夜中に目が覚めて通りに面したテラスに出るとアジア特有の蒸し暑い風が頬をなで、明け方前に鳥の鳴く美しい音色を聞かせ、かつて東洋のパリと呼ばれた時代のコロニアルホテルに思いをはせることができる
夕食の料理は洗練され美味しく、スタッフの人懐っこい笑顔も印象的
宿泊料金に含まれる朝食は3つのコースのほかにアラカルトメニューが充実して美味しい
