I enjoyed my stay at Local Riverside very much. The owner in staff were great and the owner in particular was very accommodating and a genuinely nice lady. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.It's in a wonderful location as well.

Good location to food and nightlife.Althought located next to bars the room are quite.

The check in was quick but was given a do and don't list to read.Arrived early and tired the list was a distraction.The don't was not strictly enforced too.The room was not available and had to wait until 12.00 noon before can occupy.The next day was up at 7.00am to go out for breakfast but the door was locked,although notice said door will be open at 7.00am.Have to ring bell to get attention.The delay caused me to miss my pickup at 8.00am.

Poor hotel

I don't like to stay this hotel anymore. I think I was haunted by the ghost there. At 3am I hear a lady crying. For some reason my room 2nd floor have no room # what so ever.

Helpful staff who advised us of public transport options to historical sites. Central to restaurants and very close to the river.

It was fine, for all the reasons above. The sink leaked every time we used it, but there was warm water for showers and the toilet worked well. I loved the porch...gave me a nice of view the street and the river to the right. We were on the second floor.

The hotel was alright for the price. The location is fantastic. It had some good English channels on the TV. There are many steep stairs to get up to rooms and no help with luggage. There is a bathtub, but if you try to fill it with hot water it trips the breaker. One reason I picked this hotel was for the pool table. I had visions of relaxing with a couple beers and playing a game. Unfortunately, the staff didn't let us use the downstairs table. They said we should go up to the second floor and then took our drinks away and made us move. I would understand if the bar was busy, but there was only one other guy there on his laptop. The second floor is HOT. There are no fans or windows that open. There is no music or anything. Someone also lives there. We saw a bed, stacks of clothes, and a used towel. It was not comfortable to play there. We left and went to another bar our entire stay.

Good location and cute room

I stayed in the balcony superior room for two nights and I would stay again. The room was tastefully decorated, and the balcony was a real plus. It's in an old building above a bar, and you go up two flights of a spiral staircase to a long, dark, narrow hallway with red and white checkered tiles which made me feel a bit like Alice in Wonderland. The plumbing is a bit wonky, as the sink drips onto the floor, and the bathtub doesn't drain well. It also could have been cleaner because there was lots of dust. I would stay there again because of it's bohemian charm, the reasonable price and the location.

Location. Just a couple of steps away from the riverside. 1 street away from Street 136 where all the hostess bars are located.

room nothing much to write home about. had a deluxe balcony room. partial view of the river. bed was 2 sgl mattress joined together. bathroom was bad. low water pressure and bad drainage.
balcony is the only plus. had high table & chairs and also wall fan. view directly overlooking another hotel. so not much to look at. street level also not much to see.
good place to sleep if only the bathrooms can be improved.
Nightlife Tip:
If you are looking to pick someone up around the riverside area don't waste your time. Bars are all teaser bars. The girls will just hustle you for drinks. Street 136 has most bars and Street 104 also has several bars. Overall riverside area good clean fun. For pickups go to street 51.

A great introduction to Phnom Penh!!!
Very well priced for the location and mod cons.

First of all our flight was delayed and we arrived at the guesthouse at 2am. The night security checked us in with no dramas and even gave us free bottles of water to take to our room and asked us if there was anything he could assist us with. It was obvious we were very tired and we thanked him for his consideration. We stayed with our two children in the spacious penthouse room and found everything to be of satisfaction. The wifi was consistent and fast, room was very clean and had a nice feel to it, fridge, tea and coffee in the room, nice large shower/bathroom area. The kids enjoyed dvd's in the room and it's also possible to get room service. There is a good broad selection of DVD's to choose from. We found the menu to consist of so many dishes that stood out for us that we wish we had the time to try them all. What we did try was great and the kids were satisfied as well. There is an outside rooftop on the same level as the penthouse which the owner is beginning renovation on late Feb and it will surely look great and obvious the room rate will increase. We'll be back to Phnom Penh in March and look forward to staying here again and to see the new rooftop renovation.
