Angkor Village Resort, Siem Reap

This hotel offers excellent value for the money and is close to the road to Angkor Wat away from the noise of the immediate city. Food in the restaurant is excellent and the service both charming and attentive. The rooms are clean and those overlooking the pool large and comfortable. Bathrooms are large w/2 sinks (tend to splash if water is turned on fully). Excellent laundry services. We would return here without question.

Nice location (close to the temple complex). Great looking villa-style rooms (from the outside). Excellent property. The pool was a serious disappointment as we had seen excellent photographs on the website. To be fair to the management, they said that it was the result of Typhoon Ketsana !!!. The manager introduced himself in the lobby and when we complained about the pool, he immediately remedied the situation by offering us free dinner + the Khmer Ramayana show at his exclusive theatre. They followed this up the next day with a complimentary massage service. The way they removed the dissatisfaction was excceptional. The staff was very friendly and courteous. They can improve the maintenance of the place. ACs were not working properly and you need this is the sweltering heat of Siem Reap. Saw cobwebs in quite a few places. The place smelled musty and did not look fresh. Housekeeping of the rooms could improve dramatically. Be careful of the slippery wooden floors in the rooms.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and always provided good service. The architecture of the hotel was pleasant in Khmer style which seemed authentic. We were there just after Typhoon Ketsana so unfortunately there were a lot of water and humidity, but the staff were excellent in cleaning up and provide everything we needed.
