Ambiance of the bar and restaurant: open air style with excellent food and service. Beautiful meandering pool through the buildings and the overall greenery make for a most relaxing setting.
This hotel offers excellent value for the money and is close to the road to Angkor Wat away from the noise of the immediate city.
Food in the restaurant is excellent and the service both charming and attentive.
The rooms are clean and those overlooking the pool large and comfortable. Bathrooms are large w/2 sinks (tend to splash if water is turned on fully). Excellent laundry services.
We would return here without question.

Nice location. Great looking villa-style rooms (from the outside). Very responsive management. The pool was dirty, but he compensated with a free dinner + complimentary massages. The staff was very friendly and courteous.
Maintenance of the place can be seriously improved. ACs were not working properly. The place smelled musty and did not look fresh. Housekeeping of the rooms could improve dramatically.
Nice location (close to the temple complex). Great looking villa-style rooms (from the outside). Excellent property. The pool was a serious disappointment as we had seen excellent photographs on the website. To be fair to the management, they said that it was the result of Typhoon Ketsana !!!. The manager introduced himself in the lobby and when we complained about the pool, he immediately remedied the situation by offering us free dinner + the Khmer Ramayana show at his exclusive theatre. They followed this up the next day with a complimentary massage service. The way they removed the dissatisfaction was excceptional. The staff was very friendly and courteous.
They can improve the maintenance of the place. ACs were not working properly and you need this is the sweltering heat of Siem Reap. Saw cobwebs in quite a few places. The place smelled musty and did not look fresh. Housekeeping of the rooms could improve dramatically. Be careful of the slippery wooden floors in the rooms.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Most visitors flock to his hill to view the sunset. Most people believe they can see the sun set with the temple complex in view. We went up this steep road and climbed a very steep staircase to reach the top of the hill. The view was breathtaking, but the sun does not set behind the temple complex (which is in a completely different direction)

Excellent staff.
Very pleasant SPA facilities.
Good food every day.
The hotel staff was extremely friendly and always provided good service. The architecture of the hotel was pleasant in Khmer style which seemed authentic. We were there just after Typhoon Ketsana so unfortunately there were a lot of water and humidity, but the staff were excellent in cleaning up and provide everything we needed.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : close by the temples at Angkor

Food was quite good and affordable
beautiful grounds
Water smelled like rust and looked faintly brown
can't comfortably walk to town
rooms a little shabby
As stated above, had a great 4 course dinner there for $16 US each, but the place had an overall shabby feel- we were there during the low season, it rained, but still the water was smelly and the room felt as if it had not been opened in several months. Lovely staff, they were available and helpful. Located far from Pub Street where most restaurants seemed to be- was only a $3 ride there though.

Wood buildings set in a natural landscape with an amazing pool.
Away from center of town.
The rooms were absolutely lovely with a private balcony overlooking the pool. Relaxing and peaceful, a hotel you look forward to coming back to after a day at the temples. The pool is unlike any I've seen and reserve some time just to hang out and enjoy the surroundings of the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hotel is a ways from the center of town. Tuk tuks wait in front of hotel. Found a great driver there who I will use on next visit.

Kind staff, good restaurant, lazy river shaped pool, great bathrooms
the menu was great except the chicken satay for the kids was very crunhy and too chewy - need better chicken on a stick because that is the main food a kid will eat when all else is unfamiliar
This hotel was a great value for the money. A wonderful breakfast was included and the rooms were comfortable and attractive. The staff was super helpful in arranging day tours and the overall ambience, decor and setting of the hotel were both relaxing and comforting. The location was also ideal for travel to the temples and nightime touring of the city One night I heard some noise from the night club on the other side of the highway, but it really didn't bother me and only caught my attention for a second. We were there only 2 nights and I wished I could have stayed longer.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It is well worth the money to hire the car and guide to tour the temples and the country side. You learn so much more and you get a break from the heat occasionally

Nice room - beautiful design.
Room service don't fill the minibar on a daily basis - the restaurant quality (food and service) is poor.
The most disapointing, except the restaurant and the quality of the service with some staff, is definately the fact than everything extra is charged (airport transfert - internet). The pavillon d'orient, which is very pretty, offers these service for free, knowing than the rooms are cheaper, and they provide you a Tuk tuk for the full day for free.
Restaurant Tip : Amok restaurant (Khmer food) or Kamasutra restaurant (Indian food) are excellent - near the old market

Friendly, agreeable staff, wonderful landscaping, spacious room with veranda. Reasonable price. Great swimming pool. Comfortable. Good restaurant.
Slow Internet speeds, uncomfortable veranda chairs, expensive tour packages. Not the best location - too far from downtown to make walking there convenient.
Overall, we my wife and I enjoyed our stay. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The tropical landscaping was delightfully done and the facilities were clean with rooms that seemed larger than they were because of the veranda extension. The veranda chairs were so uncomfortable that we needed to use the bed pillow provide some lumbar support. As in most of Cambodia, you cannot drink the tap water so the hotel provides two complementary bottle daily. That was not enough for our needs but we discovered that to buy water onsite cost 3-4 times the market price. We took the wireless Internet option which turned out to be a mistake. The wireless signal was strong in our room but not even Google could be found. When it did work, connections were slow. Despite these minor flaws, it was a good stay for a reasonable price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A complete guided tour package from the hotel will cost about US $25 dollars for the car and US $30 for the guide. A little speedy but worth it.

Good sized rooms. Quiet property, nice tropical resort with a river-like pools that snakes around the property. Good tasting food and nice beverage selection. Tuk-tuks available outside the resort.
We were charged for transport to and from the airport. This should be provided as a courtesy. Slow internet service.
We went to Siem Reap sfter spending 19 days cycling through Vietnam. Entering the resort, is like being transported to an oasis immediately. The rooms are cottage style and surround a river-like pool. The landscaping is tropical, the rooms are air-conditioned, the bathroom is huge with 2 sinks and seperate toilet. Satellite TV is provided for thse who want to watch 80's movies on HBO. The water isn't the best quality and smells like iron. I think they get the water from the river or they collect rain water.
The restaurants serve really good food and they have a decent wine list. The maintenance crew and housekeeping are unobtrusive as they seem to wait until most of the guests have left for their excursions before they start cleaning the pool, raking the leaves, cleaning the light fixtures, etc. Our english speaking guide that we hired through the resort was well knowlegeable and informed. He knew everything about the temples and told us about the carvings and the stories that went with them. We paid $30 for the whole day with him.
We were picked up from the airport and taken to the resort which we thought was a fabulous service. We later found out that we were charged for this service. For the amount that we paid for our stay, the transportation to and from the airport should be included. Food and beverage costs were a little expensive for Cambodia. Expect to pay for use of the internet with their computer. we were charged $1 for 20 minutes and ended up using it for 45 mins. because the connection speed was so slow. Every hotel we stayed at in Vietnam provided free internet and use of their computers.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Most temples are best seen before the mass of tourists come. We found this to be around 5am-8am. Be prepared to fend off the peddlers who will say they are your friend and try to rip you off by selling you stuff for 3-5 times the actual price. This goes for anything from water, sodas and beer to books, shirts and maps. The peddler children are very smart and could name the capitals of every state in the US and probably in most major countries that they receive tourists from for that matter. They have a great sense of humor though. We bought a book and postcards from one guy and then tried to sell it back to another guy who came up to our table and was selling the same book and postcards. He said he would buy it from us fr $20 but we would have to buy one of his books for $25.

pool right outside cottage, good breakfast, nice rooms
furthest away from city center
angkor village resort was a pleasant surprise. the staff was warm and welcoming and even came to our assistance in getting rid of a flying cockroach buzzing inside our room - at 2 am! the complimentary breakfast was hearty and filling - they also serves asian fried rice and a spicy brothy soup. you could get tuk-tuks right outside the hotel - can;t bargain rates very much as yu have not much of an option. you could choose to walk to the market - although it takes aboutt 2030 minutes
Shopping Tip : BodyTunes spa on Pokambor road is recommended. get the aromatic oil massage...

- beautiful room.
- good breakfast.
- staff really blunt.
- too expensive.
- out of route.
The hotel itself looks good, though the staff is not able to help you explore the area. we went by bike to the angkhor wat and they send us in the wrong direction!? Also it's a big problem to organize transport from the hotel to the city as the tuk-tuks are gone after 7. Also is the price very high in comparison with similar premises in town. So overall I was not satisfied and changed to another hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip : go to O&K guesthouse, much better.

Staff friendliness
Reception staff sometimes failed to understand (or act on) requests for services or assistance. Buffet breakfast was a bit "ordinary" but staff were helpful in getting something better hen requested.
A beautifully designed hotel set in lush tropical garden and pool surroundings. Lovely rooms in traditional style with individual balconies overlooking these surroundings. Dinner in the local-food dining room was good. The hotel arranges evening traditional dance shows with "banquet" (read "tray of local dishes") in town, which was very enjoyable.
The hotel mamanegement hosted guests to a cocktail reception in the gardens one evening, which was a good chance to meet the management as well as other guests.
