Convenient central stay near airport

clean, helpful service

This overnight cheap accommodation served its purpose well for us enroute to the airport. The room was large and clean and the staff organised an early taxi for us without any complications. Even though there was a loud street party happening (khmer new year) it didnt disturb us too much as our room was at the back and it was finished by 11pm.

Little hotel with a friendly staff

had a very nice stay/visit in cambodia with the friendly and efficient service provided by the hotel staff headed by marie. place was within easy access to the old market and pub street, the two most popular sites for visitors except of course, angkor wat. staff provided useful tips on how to go the different sites, places to visit and additional info on cambodia which helped us appreciate the country and its people. goood job!!

We were very impressed with this hotel for the price. The only problem we had was the air conditioning didn't seem to get cold at all, however it was keeping the air circulating so it was better than nothing. The location was great, the staff were very willing to help organise activities around the city. I enjoyed the garden area and the friendly bar making it easy to meet other travellers over a drink or 2.

We stayed there for four days and was nice. The restaurant and commom areas are nice and room is very spacious. Is not so centrally located (a 15 minute walk to Old Market), but it is situaded in a good neighborhood, with lots of others guesthouses around. Although it has no pool, it has a great pool scheme with the guesthouse next door

Nothing to really complain, nice stuff, good price ratio. Sometimes the other owner felt little wierd just doing nothing with small clothes. Maybe just not the right "outlook" for the owner / manager.

Great, friendly, basic guesthouse!

It's is a super friendly guesthouse with really cool, responsible-sounding ownership (Norwegians by origin). The staff was fab, breakfast was tasty, but not too much choice, and in fact the courtyard restaurant was pretty good & a nice place to sit (with mosquito repellant!). I also arranged my tuk-tuk driver for 2 days at the temples directly with the front desk, and he was great too. Beware, though, it gets pricey quickly! They also rented bikes from there, but it was always a bit too hot. The location was fine, not particularly close to the Pub Street, but quiet, and filled with other guesthouses. The best thing is that there's a pool next door (which does cost a small fee to use), and that's heavenly after a day exploring temples. My room was quite large, good ac, nice beds, but somewhat strangely, they didn't actually ever seem to clean the room. For just 3 nights that wasn't a big deal, and I'm sure if I had put the sign on the door they would've, but it was a bit odd, especially since you leave your key with them when you leave.

Babel was the perfect place to stay in Siem Reap. After the lukewarm reception we got from a lot of places overrun with tourists in Thailand, Babel was a breathe of fresh air. Never have I been greeted by staff that seemed so genuinely happy to see you every time you returned home at the end of the day and so excited to help or even just engage in small talk. My room was clean, great hot water and air conditioning. The food was good for the price and the cocktails were great! Free internet. Really chill garden hang out area out front. Pool next door for $3. When my television stopped working one of the guys at the front desk immediately lugged this huge television upstairs for me to replace it. The staff really goes above and beyond to make everyone feel at home and feel like friends. The best part is that Babel guesthouse is very much engaged in responsible tourism and does a lot of great stuff with their staff and in the community.

babbel makes you very welcome from your first step inside. all the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure your stay is enjoyable. some tuk tuk drivers have trouble finding this place as its down and quiet back street. name one of the other hotels in the lane however and they have no problems finding it.

I had a great stay at Babel and stayed here twice during my time in Cambodia. The staff, from the managers to the cleaners, were a pleasure to talk or simply smile to and create a friendly, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. My room was comfortable (and decorated with some photos of one of the very pretty and talented managers) and the food and beer at the bar was nice, set in a cool shaded area with plenty of fans :)
