The Bopha was a real find. Everything about the hotel was excellent We would recommend highly to anyone who wanted a great stay at a very easonable price.
Hotel Feature Tip : Be sure to try the Khmer Breakfast--it is excellent.

nice tropical garden, well organized and neat, the employees are very helpful and comfortable, breakfast is great
well worth the price and unique with the garden, location is great, not noisy but close to the old market - 5-10min walk. Staff are helpful, not pushing, overall clean room and in time room service. Breakfast is good with 4 choises - Western, Khmer, Asian, and healthy. In general, recommended!

The gardens were amazing and the rooms had lots of personality.
Stayed in a room next to pool and due to a large rain storm, our room flooded.
This hotel was as great place to stay. The rooms were really cute with large showers and nice decor. The gardens were lush and beautiful giving it a very private feeling. The staff was lovely and very helpful and the location was perfect as you could walk to the Old Market are and the Pub street in 10 minutes. The breakfasts were basic but more than enough food. Even though our room flooded on our last day, the staff was very helpful in trying to remedy the situation. This place was a great find!
Hotel Feature Tip : If a large rain storm is in the forcast, ask for a room on the second floor.

Nice garden
Near the River
Not far from old market
There is a pool
small room
breakfast a la carte
no phone in the room
old furniture
weak conditioner
sometimes noisy in the room
Hot water only couple of minutes that its wet slightly warm
Some musty smell
I think it is not very good ratio price-quality.
Yes here is a nice garden but not very big and narrow. It is near the river, there is a teracce over river, but it is across the road so it is not very useful. Not far from old market - 5 min walk, bur restaurant in hotel is expensive, so each time you should go old matket. There is a pool, water is clean but salty (why?). I thing it is all advantages, but list of disadvantages are biger.
Very small room so incoming door and wardrobe doors cannot be opened fully. Very dark room in spite of my room was in second floor.Breakfast a la carte and choise is poor.No phone in the room, phone in receprions was not working when I arrived. Old furniture and look very poor. Weak conditioner. Weak lighting.Sometimes noisy in the room - because window is not very good (poor glazing).
Hot water in shower "exists" only couple of minutes that its wet slightly warm. Some musty smell, because high humidity.
Hotel Feature Tip : near the river, not far from old market

Incredible gardens, lovely pool, beatiful rooms. Breakfast was the best I had in all of Asia.
I saw a few bugs in the room, but oh well. They were really nice about it.
This hotel was really lovely. The location was perfect and near the market for restaurants and shopping. It was an easy trip from here to the temples and the staff was very helpful in arranging tours, etc. The gardens were really fantastic and the breakfast was the best we had in three months of travelling.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Arrange a guide on your own, the hotel charges more than an individual will.

Astoundingly beautiful gardens, meticulously maintained and a feast to the eyes and ears, were the stand-out feature. Our second room was spacious, peaceful and well-presented.
Our first room was small - the bathroom door could not be fully opened before it hit the end of the bed. It was not what the website had led us to expect.
We booked our room over the internet and were initially disappointed with its small size and pokiness. However, the efficient and friendly staff found us an alternative for the rest of our stay, and it was excellent. The walk to it through the beautiful garden setting was a highlight, especially when accompanied by the "barking" of the frogs.
Nightlife Tip : The free Apsara dancers at the Temple Club in nearby Pub St were a bargain, and the meals inexpensive and tasty.

Cheap and value for money quality.
The shower water was very weak...
Good location and surroundings, with good service and dining. The location was close to the main city. The room was small and well kept, but large enough. The garden and building were lovely. The Cambodian breakfast was good. There were private outdoor reading rooms and a gorgeous water pool. Overall consider good value for money. I guarantee that you get more than you pay.

-Nice grounds with beautiful pool.
-Staff friendly and helpfull.
-Good, central location.
-Onsite restaurant is tasty.
-Clean and with a lot of character.
-Breakfast ends at 10am and the first day we were there, they already shut it down at 9:40. Eventually, we were able to get a breakfast. They would typically start pulling the breakfast tables around 9:30 to prepare for lunch. -Also, big tour bus groups come through for dinner, which can be a bit annoying, but we usually went to town for dinner. The dinner we had at Bopha was very good and probably why the tours stop here.
Would stay here again. Great location for temples and "night life" in Siem Reap. Walking distance (5min) to the market - although in hot months, the $1 tuk tuk ride is really worth it!
The grounds had a lot of character and were very nice. Really enjoyed the pool. Overall, really enjoyed staying here.
Nightlife Tip : The bars start and close early. We found "In Touch" to stay open late and have a great live band.

Lovely art throughout. Copies of Angkorian sculptures adorn the gardens and the bedrooms.
Swimming pool area is small and does fill up in the afternoons.
This was our second time staying in the Bopha Angkor. It is a delight just to walk around admiring the flowers, water features and Khmer decorative sculptures. Rooms are comfortable and the restaurant is great although rather popular with tour groups. The swimming pool while lovely is rather small and can get somewhat crowded during the day.
However, we would definitely stay there again!

Great value for money. The location was superb - only minutes walk to main city centre, with good sized rooms. Lovely gardens and a gorgeous salt water pool were the highlights
Bathrooms could do with updating or makeover but still reasonable for mid price
Great location and surroundings, with good service and dining. The location was superb - only minutes walk to main city centre, with good sized well kept rooms. Lovely gardens, outdoor open restaurant, private outdoor reading rooms, and a gorgeous salt water pool were the highlights. Overall consider good value for money.

Nice restaurant, friendly services, fine athmosphere
Very small room (303), not so inwaiting reception place
I expected to be picked up at the airport, but there was nobody of the hotel. I think that this should be a normal service when the arrival time is communicated. The service during the stay was friendly and correct, all wishes were carried out.
Room 303 small for a supirior room!

Convenient yet quiet location, garden, open-air restaurant, pool
Creepy rooms, no free internet
I had a mixed experience at the Bopha Angkor. On the plus side were its convenient location to the town center (I was glad I stayed here instead of one of the large properties outside of town), and its facilities such as lovely open-air restaurant with breakfast, tropical garden and pool.
The big disappointment were the rooms themselves. I wish I had paid more attention to the previous reviewers who had issues with insects and dim lighting. Checking in after a long day of travel delays, I was looking forward to unwinding in the comfort of my room. Yet the room was anthing but comfortable. No sooner had the staff member closed the door behind him and I was confronted by mosquitoes, a centipede and gecko climbing the walls. The rooms are extremely dark even with all of the lights turned on, and though I can appreciate the Khmer theme, I found the stone decor and bird-man statues quite creepy!
Both of my standard rooms during my four-night staty had issues such as cracks between the floor and walls/door, molding bathroom walls, leaking tub and dirty tiles. The rooms look bright in the photos, but in person I found them grim and in need of updating. Instead of coming back to the room and relaxing, I always found myself on-edge and 'inspecting' parts of the room before use. I've made due in worse conditions, but expected more from this star rating and price.
Aside from the rooms, the breakfast is basic but nice, and I had a lovely afternoon relaxing at the pool/bar, though this could be hard to fit in in addition to temple touring. Generally the hotel staff were friendly and competent except for some of the young front desk guys who displayed a lax attitude toward requests and concerns. The laundry service was prompt and drivers and guides were easily arranged, though I'm not sure it was worth the extra $5-$10 compared to arranging on your own or through the tourist center. During my stay, the River Terrace always seemed to be closed.
Overall, if you are looking for
Travel tip : Two great places near the hotel: 1) Chili Wine Bar, just 1-minute walk to the right as you exit the hotel, has a chic atmosphere and extensive menu 2) Body Tune spa, 5-minute walk from hotel, has excellent Thai massage in an upscale setting, $14 an hour

Lovely landscaping makes it a wonderful, refreshing retreat.
Great breakfast.
This hotel is a very pleasant experience. I loved the greenery and the beautiful landscaping. It makes for a relaxing atmosphere. They also have numerous nooks to sit and visit with friends or read and relax. Service was very good and attentive. The only downside was that our room was very small and the bathroom was tight. Because they were not able to accommodate us for 4 nights we spent 2 here and 2 at the City River Hotel next door. Rooms there were much larger for the same price. If I were to stay at Bopha Angkor again I would upgrade to a larger room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Easy walk to the markets and the restaurant strip from this hotel. Definitely stay in the city versus on the outskirts.

The wonderful garden.
The atmosphere of the hotel.
The friendly staff.
The excellent food.
Bohpa is one of the most fascinating and inspiring hotels I have stayed in. You almost felt you were inside the rain forest with the fantastic garden, the statues and all the flowers.
It was a real oasis in the city and a nice start for the exploration of Angkor Wat.
The staff was excellent and professional and helped to get the best guide and driver for Angkor Wat.
They could also help with booking boat tickets from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh.
You felt you stayed in a 5star hotel but only paid the cost for a 3star hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Of course Angkor Wat but also downtown Siem Reap with all nice restaurants and the night markets.

Good service, decent breakfast included in room (though coffee is pretty bad), beautiful pool area, nice room decor, fridge with 2 bottles of water per day, good location.
Rooms had musty, old smell.
I was happy enough with Bopha, but I don't feel like the room was worth the price, mostly because the room had a pretty unpleasant dank, musty smell. The bathroom, though equipped fairly nicely, was very oddly shaped and it was uncomfortable for me and my husband.
The other areas of the hotel are great - a computer up front with free internet available for use, beautiful open air restaurant and bar area, very short walk to the main area of town (and actually we were glad not to be staying in that area), and the pool was beautiful, although doesn't get much sun in the afternoon.
Over all, we had a fine time, but I feel like I overpaid a bit.
Travel tip : Tuk-tuk drivers camp out outside the hotel hoping to catch people right away. Better bargains can be had from the tuk-tuks in the center of town, so walk the 5 minutes and negotiate with them.
Prices are all in US dollars - don't feel you need to exchange money to get riels - they have ATMs where you can withdraw USD. The temple admission is $20/day and it's cash only, so be sure to have plenty of cash on hand.
The bikes to rent are terrible and the tires blow all the time due to the poor roads. Just take a tuk-tuk and direct them where you want to go.
