Amazing service and surroundings
Staff were very friendly and tried very hard to speak English

Value for money. Unbelievable facilities. Close to everything. We would highly recommend resort.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hire a driver it cost us $25 per day and they drove us everywhere we wanted. They will also avoid the large tourist groups at the attractions.

One of the great surprises of our trip
Very clean, staff very polite and always with a smile, accomodating to our needs, even complimentary airport pickup and drop off!
9.7
Only a short stay but a wonderful time. Location is very convenient, only 2 dollar tuk-tuk ride away from anywhere in town (I suspect it could be even lower but seemed reasonable to us).
We could not use all amenities because of the short stay, but loved the pool and well designed grounds. Agoda's price was increadible. Absolutely no regrets after staying in this lovely hotel.
Restaurant Tip:
Aha Restaurant: pricy by Cambodian standards, and food volume is 'modest', but a great range of local flavors. Delicious for a trial of local treats.

The hotel was quite comfortable for a stay. Service was the essence as the people were too caring for your needs and your requirements and went that extra mile to help you and assist you during your stay at the hotel. I think the spa was good but was very expensive compared to the other shops outside

Comfortable resort that met my expectations
Service, amenities, cleanliness, accessibility
8.3
The Borei Angkor Resort & Spa was a comfortable resort for those looking for a bit of isolation from the Siem Reap backpacker scene. It has all of the pre-requirements that a well-run hotel in Southeast Asia should have - a pool, spa, knowledgeable staff, a hearty buffet breakfast - but achieving this in Cambodia is always a bit more of a struggle. For that reason alone, the Borei is a good choice.
The main drawback is its location. Borei is located on a busy, dusty street that tourists wouldn't want to walk out onto. The hotel is an approximate 7-minute tuk tuk ride from the main downtown area, which certainly isn't far, expensive or difficult to achieve, but if you're staying in Siem Reap you would want to be close to Pub Street. Because of this, Borei tries to position itself as a standalone oasis where leaving the resort's grounds is not a necessity - which it achieves.
The rooms are clean and the hotel is new, but it doesn't exude quite the same luxurious ambiance that other five-star resorts seem to radiate. That said, it was a lovely stay and the staff was wonderful. I would recommend this for travelers who want the pre-packaged, hassle-free vacation experience: not for single travelers or backpackers. For that, stay downtown.
Restaurant Tip:
Central Cafe near the Old Market is tasty but AWFUL service. The manager refused to take my money (a $50 bill on a $20 meal) because "it had a crease in it." After much arguing he insisted that he would finally take my $50 bill, but I could expect no change. After he threatened to call the police on me (I'm a 26-year-old woman, btw, who was traveling with my mother) a kind waitress offered to take the bill to the bank down the road and exchange the bill for something more suitable.
This man was wretched in a town where 95% of the local population is lovely. Don't go to Central Cafe if you want to avoid a headache. (http://www.canbypublications.com/siemreapads/cafe-central-siem-reap.htm)

We only had one problem, due to arthritis I found the bed too hard, this was reported and manager upgraded us to a suite with an improved bed. Other than that our stay was fantastic. Loved the solid timber decor.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Set yourself up with a good Tuk Tuk driver who will look after you for the entire stay.

it was a pleasure staying at this hotel. right from the service personnel at the check-in desk to the manager mr moss are cordiality personified. everyone we dealt with tried his / her best to do their best, in every possible manner. if only we knew this resort were so good, we would have planned a longer stay. i would most certainly recommend this hotel to everyone i know, in addition to myself visiting again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Please remember to inform the visitors from abroad about visa fee, and exit fee. And that all expenses in the country may be paid with US$.

Out of town away from the energy of Siem Reap
4.3
We really did not enjoy Borei Ankor. The hotel was too big and the decor over bearing. It lacked any atmosphere or charm as it is a rest stop of bus loads of tour groups.
The hotel is situated on the National Highway 6, a way from Siem Reap town centre, which means that a leisurely stroll into town meant walking along a dusty road competeing with six lanes of traffic.
