friendly staff, express checkin, fast checkout, nice and beautiful big room, everything was REALLY REALLY superb! it was a nice escape from the dusty streets of cambodia..

the water quality wasn't that good, and i think it was just during the times i was at the hotel. and i doubt that it was at the reach of the hotel to take actions.

it was such a nice hotel... for the price we paid, we got much more than what i thought we'd get. complimentary use of i-pods during the stay and the speaker system was a sweet idea, and the sliding doors by the hot tub was a unique experience.. the minibar is comparably cheap, and the room is really really clean. staff is really friendly too..it was really nice :) the location is perfect to go out in the middle of the night to walk to night market and pub street. it was a perfect choice and i'll definitely pick HDLP again if i get to go to siem reap again!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : getting a tuktuk and asking the driver to show u around is always a cheap and a good idea. 10 dollars per day is about right, and everything in cambodia, u should try to bargain. a 15 dollar souvenir turns out to become 5 dollars at the end of the bargain.

the hotel is very beautiful. The staff are lovely. The position is perfect, you can easily walk into town to eat and to see markets.

we didn't eat often at the hotel, as it's much cheaper to eat out

this hotel is very beautiful, divinely but simply decorated, lush but not gaudy. Essential oils burning emphasize the feeling of calm, in contrast to the heat and dirt outside. The pool area is lovely, and the staff sweet and helpful. The hotel's links to local charities made giving something back to this lovely but poor country, very easy.We booked the urbanview room, but think we may have been upgraded to a garden view room, as we had a lovely view of the pool.

Hotel Feature Tip : we think we may have been upgraded to a garden view room as we had a lovely view of the pool. we did notice that some of the other rooms, may have looked over a lane or street, and that perhaps they wouldn't have felt as luxurious as ours did.

Close to town

Air conditioner poor in room

Nice place, good location, room modern, internet did not work although I asked multiple times to get it going over four days they failed to get it to work. Rooms comfortable, clean, stuffy airwise, it was so hot and humid that the room would not cool well. The vodka infused with lemongrass martini was great, as was the Ankor beer. Under staffed restaurant, especially at breakfast. Location near pub street a plus, two dollar tuk tuk ride to town.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Get extra space on your memory card for the temples

Very modern, nice staff, clean , air conditioner good

Check in difficult, service in breakfast restaurant slow and understaffed

Nice place, good location near pub street with all the restaurants although we took a tuk_-tuk to dinner at the pub street nightly. Dusty dirty street in front of hotel, not real safe for walking, the reception cocktail lounge was rather artistic and modern, the rooms were nice comfortable, the internet service did not work and the staff could not get it to work at all so we ended up going to the bom-bom cafe to use the internet , the breakfast was good, not great, slow and understaffed, hard to get a second cup of coffee, over all a pretty good value but they need better training .

Restaurant Tip : Go to pub street to eat

Customer Service and the buffet breakfast were simply outstanding and congenial to family needs.

Needs better listings of activities beyond the ruins of Angkor Wat.

I believe this hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia offers one of the best packages for the money. The management team was superb in their treatment of us as guests. The food was phenomenal and cooked to taste. The pool and fitness room along with the interior decor of the rooms were first class. I would definitely recommend as a budget but high in star ratings (****).

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Secure from hotel in advance a listing of charges for transportation and sight-seeing tours. It's better to come prepared in this way than to wonder what may or may not be available once in country.

Staff is pleasant and accomodating. Very clean hotel. Nice small gym.

Pool is quite shallow, not really for swimming, but more for sun bathing. WiFi did not work well, and their tech support to troubleshoot was not that knowledgeable.

This hotel is very nicely located with walking proximity to the shopping markets - Old, Night and Center - and a lot of restaurants, including the well known PUB street, which has a lot of nightlife. The hotel itself has restaurants, including an adjoining Cafe, which is nice for a simple breakfast, or snack. I would recommend that there be an option to book rooms. Not suites, to include breakfast.

Restaurant Tip : Going from the hotel, go to the street after Pub Street, called Pub Alley, where the dining is quieter and more pleasant. Looking for excellent local Khmer food, visit Khmer Kitchen, one street over from Pub Alley.

We chose to stay at HDP despite the unknown with traveling with children (4 yrs/11 mos.). We had heard so much about how other hotel were better for kids and nothing about HDP being child friendly. But let me tell you...it was amazing with children. They had a great baby cot with free baby toiletries when we arrived. We used the hotel babysitter to go to dinner at the hotel (Meric) and felt so safe and secure. The babysitter had our baby asleep by the time we got back and older one happily watching TV. The staff were very accommodating and dotted over the children every where we went. The room was large enough and the kids had space to crawl and play around! Can't say enough about how great this hotel is. Location is fab, and it is a perfect oasis away from the dusty, hot, temples.

Hotel Feature Tip : Get the breakfast included! You can visit the temples early (sun rise) and then return to a beautiful breakfast that goes until 10:30...but they seemed to accommodate the late arrivers quite well.

Hotel de la Paix is a beautiful oasis in the middle of dusty Siem Reap. After a tiring day of visiting the Angkor temples, it was such a pleasure to return to our hotel. After you pass through the front door, you leave the world behind and find yourself in heaven. The hotel smells of wonderful jasmine oil which is burning in every corner. The bar, the courtyard, the restaurant, the pool - I don't know which more fabulous than the next. We just loved the design of the hotel. Everything was gorgeous and stylish without being either pretentious or immature. Our room was fantastic. Very large, with great lighting (not too dark like many modern hotel rooms), a big comfortable bed, and a great bathroom with a rain shower and bathtub big enough for two. Even the toiletries were fantastic (I meant to ask which moisturizer they use!). Housekeeping was wonderful, they left little baked treats each night before bedtime and gave us as many free water bottles as we needed, which was many given the heat in Siem Reap! The location of the hotel is perfect - you can walk to all the bars and restaurants in town. I would definitely not have wanted to be further away and have to take tuk-tuks to get to town. And then there was the food...which was amazing! Great breakfast (those eggs were too delicious), but best of all was the room service menu. Everything on the menu was quite inexpensive, which was so surprising in such a nice hotel. Over our 4-day stay, we probably ordered most of the items on the room service menu - everything was so delicious and so cheap we just wanted to try it all. I can't find any faults with this hotel and would recommend it to absolutely anyone going to Siem Reap.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : One tip I have is that you should book your tour guide directly instead of through the hotel. It's cheaper to book a guide on your own. But, more importantly, we liked the guide we booked ourselves much better than the guide the hotel booked for us.

Location, design of the hotel and rooms, service, and the deli!

The pool is a little small but it's a wonderful place to chill out.

Beautifully designed hotel in a very central part of Siem Reap. The rooms are peaceful and simple with some great Cambodian art, and everything you could need. The restaurant offer is great with a special mention for the breakfasts and the deli - great ingredients executed perfectly. And all with wonderful Cambodian service - relaxed and with a smile. It's a great place to return to after seeing the wonders of Angkor.

attentive service; family friendly; conveniently located; nice pool

overpriced; breakfast so-so, but had champagne; no complimentary newspaper; rooms a tad small for price

we took two young children with us and were pleased at how family friendly the hotel was. the hotel provided baby toiletry, crib, and high-chair. the hotel was also conveniently located near Bar Street, within walking distance. The temples required transportation to get to, but that was easy to arrange. The pool was long and staff very attentive. Despite this, hotel still a tad overpriced especially given size of the room; breakfast included small buffet and a set menu.

Restaurant Tip : Avoid eating at the restaurants just before Pub Street. Walk the five extra minutes to get to better restaurants.

Meric Restaurant Beautiful pool The hotel's sleek design and decor

The only complaint we had was that the staff person who checked us in to the hotel tried to sell us an upgraded room more than once, which was off-putting for a hotel of this caliber.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel de la Paix. We loved the modern take on art deco design, and the decor elements that echoed the architecture of the temples, especially the exquisite pool, one of the nicest I've seen. Our meal at Meric were outstanding, certainly one of the best we've had in Asia. The cafe was very pleasant too, as was the spa, which had reasonable prices. We also used hotel drivers to see the sights, who were all courteous and professional.

Stayed here March 30th through April 2nd, 2009. Hotel was just stunning. One of the best pools I have used and rooms were very well appointed. You feel so relaxed being here. We upgraded to the spa suite which gave us a large rooftop deck with outdoor tub and lounge area-very nice. Staff would do anything for you, never a problem. Perfect location for the tourist as everything is within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again, top notch hotel.
