Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Raffles luxury
Large rooms, great buffet breakfast, very helpful concierge, spa treatment.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with the concierge particularly helpful in organising a tour guide, driver and restaurant reservations. Buffet breakfast had a great selection. Perfect location with easy walk to restaurants. Spa treatment onsite was delightful after trekking around the temples.
Restaurant Tip:
French restaurant nearby with-in walking distance of hotel had excellent food.

Very good hotel..we were made very welcome; and each staff member knows you by name. THe rooms were excellent; however no room service available; and poor Internet service.

Raffles Review Cambodia
The hotel was wonderful in all aspects.
8.7
The location of the hotel was wonderful. The restaurant and bar were quite nice as well as the pool -- the pool is great as it allows one to swim laps and get a little exercise. The rooms were quite spacious but the bathrooms could use an update - -for instance the hairdryers were the old fashion kind and the bathtub and shower had low water pressure. The bar was quite nice as there was a piano player who asked for requests.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You can walk into town and enjoy the local restaurants.

Wonderful experience
We found the staff extremely courteous and quick to anticipate our needs, even before we realized we needed something! The hotel appears to be very well managed and on the couple of occasions that we made special requests they were immediately granted. The pool area was never overcrowded as sometimes happens in larger hotels. Food was excellent with a wide choice, both in the Apsara restaurant and at breakfast.

The best thing about this charming, colonial-style hotel is the atmosphere: the delicate sounds of Khmer music which greet you in the hall and the discreet attention displayed with serenity by the staff at all times. You have the impression that you are singularly important to all the people who work there.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We visited Angkor Wat at dawn and waited around the small lake for the sun to rise over the temple. Even though we were in the midst of hundreds of 'invisible' people, the silence was total in this great moment of expectation. The experience was well worth the early morning all! We didn't enjoy the sunset - too hot, too many people, too much noise!!!

Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor, Siem Reap, Cambodia
excellent service; beautiful pool and lobby area; great bars
8
Loved the overall atmosphere of the hotel and the lower staff was exceptionally accomodating and welcoming. The concierge staff was somewhat aloof. We felt that the property needs some updating; the tub area in our bath needed recaulking and the spa area needs a good coat of paint throughout. Our room size was very generous in the Landmark section of the hotel. We loved the music and feel of the bars during the evening.
Travel tip:
hotel/airport transfer .outrageous. we hired an independent cab directly.

Raffles, Siem Reap
It has been said before. The Raffles is simply the best hotel for people who appreciate service and comfort.
10
What can one say that hasn't been said before. First class comfort and service. There will always be negative coments from people who are never satisfied. Our party of 3 travel worlwide and appreciate comfort and service. The Raffles has it all, bearing in mind the country is only beginning to recover from a horrific past.
Shopping Tip:
Be prepared to haggle.Offer 40% of price first quoted and that is just about right. This advice came from a Cambodia resident and worked most of the time.

Old World Charm with Impeccable Service
From being greeted by name on arrival, handed a welcome drink and offered an upgrade to make our stay more comfortable; the attention to detail in the service provided at Raffles Grand could not be beat.
8.7
If you want to soak up the colonial ambience of Siem Reap the Raffles Grand Hotel is the place for you. The hotel is surrounded by gardens and away from the hustle and bustle of town. However the 10 - 15 minute walk along the river bank adjacent to the hotel is a pleasant way to get to Pub Street for a night out.
The hotel bars and restaurants have catered to the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy, Charlie Chaplin and Somerset Maugham. The wooden floors, high ceilings, fans and period decor harken back to the colonial days in Cambodia. You can enjoy cocktails in the lower ground Elephant bar, looking out over the pool from the Conservatory or sitting beside the pool at the Apsara terrace.
The pool is 35 metres in length and surrounded by flowering frangipani trees and fragrant flower beds. We even saw one of the hotel's chefs picking herbs and flowers for dinner. It is definitely a spot to recharge from the exertion of touring temples.
Unfortunately ambience comes with a price and dining at the hotel can eat away at your budget. It is definitely worth booking a room rate that includes breakfast and taking advantage of the sumptuous buffet with bubbly included. For other meals you are probably better off going into town and enjoying the cheaper local and international fare available there.
The Apsara dance evening is expensive and the dancers and food lacked quality. Given advance warning we would have skipped this event at the hotel and looked for a cheaper option elsewhere.
We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel because we wanted to immerse ourselves in the history of Cambodia and the Raffles Grand Hotel offers another way to experience Cambodia's past. The staff were attentive to our every need. The service was flawless. The rooms were comfortable. With some schedule planning to avoid mealtimes at the hotel, it is possible to have the perfect stay for enjoying Siem Reap and the Angkor temple complex.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you can book a rate with breakfast included the buffet options are plentiful and there is drink all you want bubbly on offer.
