Location, Cleanliness, Value
We chose this hotel because we wanted to stay within walking distance of the old market. This more than fitted the bill. The whole place was spotless, with big 3 1/2 star rooms laid out with many features of a 4 star hotel. The location is excellent, just over the bridge from the central area, so benefits from proximity but not the associated noise. The staff are friendly and helpful and the mood is upbeat. An added bonus is the swimming pool terrace, although small is well designed and a pleasant place to spend some time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Obviously the temples are a must do. Definitely go by tuk-tuk, motorbike or if you have the energy cycle. The complex is very green and you want to be as close to the outside as possible. (not viewed through car windows).
The floating village is a must. We ended up stripping to our underwear and swimming in the Tonle Sap lake, on a whim. Fantastic scenery.

Good location, 5 minute walk to the Old Market and Pub Street. Very friendly staff. They have a pool too, good enough for a dip after a long, hot day.
There's 2 PCs in the lobby for free internet access, but the connection is rather slow.
Royal Crown Hotel offers good value for money. You really get your money's worth, no surprises: big, simple hotel room with big beds, utilitarian bath, breakfast is just ok, good location. Friendly hotel staff a big plus!

Basic amenities in the hotel. But with great location, near Old Market and Pub Street
Royal Crown Hotel is good value for money---you get what you pay for, no surprises, no frills. Touring around the city, you see a lot of other hotel options around Siem Reap, but the Royal Crown Hotel really seemed to be the better option, given its price and key location near the Old Market and Pub Street (where the night life is).
