Yes its a new hotel, the rooms are spacious, the bathrooms ok, the surroundings ok
The service was the most disappointing part and the food wasnt amazing
I chose the Sokha because of it being new and a 5 star hotel and for the most part the hotel was ok, but only ok not fabulous. The customer service wasnt up to what you should expect, almost as if the personnel were not trained to actually attend you well. At the pool, the moment you had a drink or food the personnel were on you with the bill as if you were going to run off. Maybe they have had bad experiences there but I no sooner finished a drink and the bill was there even though I wasnt going anywhere - it put me off ordering another. I did communicate with the hotel before setting off for Cambodia as we wanted an extra bed. I was informed this would be and extra $30 per night but when I got there nothing had been prepared and after a 6 hour road journey from the capital they made a big thing of it and we had to wait nearly one hour to sort it. We were told the three of us had to have breakfast even though one of us dont eat it. They came to turn down the beds just after 6pm each evening and because we were'nt out the room at that time, they didnt return. I wouldnt pick that hotel again or recommend it. There was a wedding on the evening we arrived and it was held around the pool - there was no warning but we felt obliged to move away from the pool about 5pm.
Travel tip : Nothing much to shout about around the hotel area but further away there was nightlife, markets and of course the temples which was good. The Tuc Tuk service is good - but watch what they charge.

Friendly staff,excellent breakfast,comfortable
bedrooms,super pool for kids,good room service.
Sokha Angkor is located 15 mins from airport and 15/20 mins from temple area by tuk-tuk. You can rent a tuk-tuk for around $15us per day. Pass for the temples can be bought at hotel to save time. Very welcoming staff and managers are always eager to help you with anything. Housekeeping services are second to none. Bedroom was exceptionally clean and comfortable for adults and kids. Breakfast was very good with something for everyone - my 6 year old enjoyed the noodle soup , egg station is one of the better ones. The perfect hotel for relaxing after hitting the temple trails of Siem Reap. Will definately stay here again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Get a tuk-tuk driver from the front hotel car park (around 15-20 $us per day). He'll take you to the temples,around town,to pub street in the evenings. Get him to also take you to the country side to the paddy fields and make sure you have your camera. Take and drink lots of water while sightseeing. Be prepared for lots of walking too. Most of the sights don't accomodiate baby buggies so a sling works best for baby.

Poor service; Smoke-scented rooms; Reptiles in rooms; Blood on bed sheets
We travel frequently, and can honestly say that our stay at the Sokha was one of our most disappointing experiences.
To make a long story short:
(1) We requested a non-smoking room, but were initially placed in one that had clearly been smoking in the past;
(2) We encountered a sizeable lizard in our second room;
(3) We awoke in our third room, only to discover that we had spent the night in sheets stained with someone else's blood.
The staff was surprisingly unapologetic and slow to remedy each of these problems.
For the price of the Sokha, it would be difficult (if not impossible) to find a worse place to stay.
