we stayed here for 5 days, was a lovely hotel which suited our needs, the best part was the rooftop pool, very refreshing after a day at the temples to cool down and relax!! only a short stroll to the markets and pub st.

Cool hotel with some perks but lacking in service
Fun design, rooftop pool and bar
6.3
I stayed at Terrasse des Elephants in February 2013 while travelling with a friend through Cambodia. Terrasse des Elephants has a great location in that it's smack in the middle of town, walking distance from most restaurants or bars or anything else (aside from temples) that you would want. The design is fun - a bit like a temple theme park - and the rooftop pool and bar are very welcome after a long day walking around the temples. However, while Terrasse des Elephants is reasonably priced by global standards, it's definitely on the high end for Siem Reap and Cambodia (over $100 per night). Which is fine if you're getting the extra perks - great service, etc. However, the service at Terrasse des Elephants is more like that you would expect at the budget hotels - we didn't have any water the first two nights we were there and every time we asked about it, we were told the engineer would come look at it. He finally did on the second day and then we were told it was because of a blackout in part of the city. Which may have been the case, but not sure why it took them 2 days to get to that. We also asked them to arrange some bus tickets for us or find out some costs for transportation. Which they said they would do tomorrow but then they didn't so we just hunted down the bus station on our own and took care of it. A lot of this may have been language problems, but you do expect at least one good English speaker when you're paying over $100 per night in a town where that's considered luxury.

Very original hotel with fun decor and a superb roof terrace right in the middle of the action. Very special experience. Only issue was with air con, which was rubbish but staff did their best to sort out the problem.

Has a lot of potential!!!
5
We stayed here for 5 nites. The room was clean and very big. We were on the fifth floor overlooking the pool. Which was nice but the hotel doesn't have an elevator so that ment 100 stairs to the room every time. So keep this in mind if you don't want the climb. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful and have a good grasp of english. The infacture in the hotel has issues. One being the water. The water coming out of the tap smells like iron from the pipes. The hot water when it is working is really hard to regulate coming out of the tap so you are either being scaled or freezing cold. That is when you have water. Most mornings we didn't have enough for two showers and one after no water at all. They towels they changed each day am hoping they washed them but they smelt like and felt like they hung them to dry outside cause they smelt like pollution and musty and were extremely thin. They are short on plug ins in the room. And the ones we did have sometimes they would work and sometimes they didn't. Made charging devices hard. As for the internet they say FREE Wifi it just never worked well. Would take forever to get your messages and you gave up trying to load them to read them. The food was beyond AWFUL even the tea and coffee. Think they used the water out of the taps which smelt unbelievable awful. We had breakfast included but after the first day went down the street. This hotel has a lot of potential. Really is in a great location beautiful inside just need someone knowing how to manage it properly. I think if they could get a proper chef and start with the food that would help.
Travel tip:
Rated the hotel condition/cleanliness because of the infacture not because of the cleanliness

unique & beautiful decoration and nice service
unique design and very good at location
8.7
The whole decoration of the hotel is so beautiful. The Bayon design is very unique and gave me a totally different experience from a city life style, but the standard room is a little bit small and not bright enough. Hotel staffs are very nice. The location is very convenient and it just takes 3 minutes to old market, pub street.

Quirky fun hotel
Perfect location one minute to Alley West
7.3
We did a lot of tours so the location was perfect for dinner with many fabulous restaurants across the road. Vert friendly staff and loved the Cambodian Art Deco feel to the hotel. Quirky.
Restaurant Tip:
We ate at the alley every night but one. Fantastic food at Aha, The Khmer Kitchen and the Indian restaurant that did dosas ( although the dosas themselves were not the best. Cuisine Wat Damnak was the standout restaurant 5 minutes tut tut ride away. A must for any foodie.

Its quite fun but a little dated. Can't fault the position. Right in the middle of the action. Nice pool but bit annoying as they let outsiders pay to use the pool for the day so we found thee were no Loungers left.

Great hotel in the heart of town
beautiful rooftop swimming pool, nice breakfast
8.3
Terrasse des Elephants is a very nice Hotel in the heart of Siem Reap - only a stonethrow away from the old market and pub street. The roofterrace with swimmingpool is amazing, but the decoration of the rooms is a bit tacky and gone a bit too far in my opinion. I had a lotus pond with bridge and ankor like statue in the middle of my room. The breakfast has not many options but is really good.
