The Victoria is a charming hotel, right by the gardens and much quieter than in the centre of town. The building itself is beautiful, full of wood and old elevators. The pool is fantasic, lots of space and a great place to chill out after a morning visiting temples. Highly recommended.

Fantastic colonial architecture, cosy atmosphere all around and great swimming pool!

No toothbushes in the bathroom?! But just ask and the staffs are very attentive.

We enjoyed our stays in the 2nd-floor Deluxe Room which can overlook the whole swimming pool area; the room is in an enormous size with beautiful wooden touches and we really love the balcony which we families can chat on the sofas (two!) and wooden bench with cozy winds flowing around.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you arrive Siem Reap in the afternoon, why not hit the Angkor checkpoint around 16:45 to purchase your 3-day passes for the following 3 days (and also get free entrances to Phnom Bakheng for sunset at the same day!). Mr Chanthol (+855 12 60 51 83) outside the hotel is a local tuk tuk driver who can speak pretty good English. Use more local tuk tuk/van drivers and you will find its cheaper and negotiable, and let the money goes in to the local community.

The French colonial style is great. The old fashioned elevator, the dark paneling and lighting were very nice.

really none

Our stay was very enjoyable. The swimming pool area is very beautiful and the pool attendants were very good. The breakfast buffet and sitting outside overlooking the swimming pool was very nice and relaxing. The rooms are large, very clean and laundry charges are very reasonable. The have a great French restaurant for those special occasions. The concierge can get you a tuk tuk if a few moments since there are numberous in front of the hotel. There is a large park in front of the hotel and many people exercise there in the early mornings to avoid the heat of the day. The tourist info. office is a five minute walk away. We visited other 5 star hotels for lunch but decided we had the best. Great place to stay and will do it again. The hotel prices are all in U.S. dollars as are most things in Cambodia. A dollar tip to the room cleaning folks, the concierge, pool attendants is greatly appreciated.

Restaurant Tip : Go to Pub street for many restaurants, nightlife, people watching and other entertainment but be prepared for the beggars. Many victims of land mines, legless, armless, etc. so give them a dollar. Go to Viroths restaurant for a great dinner with top notch food and away from the crowds. Good to have reservations too.

Best Pool ever. Fantastic breakfast . Beautiful colonial architecture.

We stayed five nights at the Victoria, it is a rare gem. Bravo to the architect, this is colonial style at it's best. The staff is attentive and friendly. The overall atmosphere is elegant without being formal. Our room was spacious decorated with colonial style furniture. What makes this hotel special is the attention to the details, like lotus bouquets in both room and bathroom. Ah... the pool, a swimmers dream, large and beautiful in a garden setting. Do enjoy the great happy hour, the coco victoria is wonderful.

Travel tip : Look outside the Victoria for a Tuk-Tuk with driver number 11. We employed him for the entire stay. To visit the vast site of Angkor, there is no better way then by Tuk-Tuk. One stays cool, and yes it is a different experience then sitting in a car. Driver 11 is a lovely man, a very experienced driver and he speaks pretty good english. Arun Restaurant not far from the hotel has great khmer food.

The architecture and decor are fantastic. Staff excedingly kind and silent. Very good rooms and a very good swimming pool. Very good breakfast.

Staff lacks experience and professionalism Food and drinks quite expensive for Cambodja

On arrival we were informed that we were entitled to a free dinner as we stayed for more than two nights. So, we had dinner at the hotel and were provided a fixed menu without prices. In the end we were informed that after all we were not entitled to that meal and were charged item by item, as if we had chosen from a "a la carte menu" - it ammouted to more than US$140.00 for 3 PAX. After talking to manager we agreed on paying only a fixed price menu - still US$74.00. As a token, we were offered a bottle of wine and nice basket of fruits. I must point out the manager's kindness and civility. I'll probably stay there on my next visit and advise it to friends.

This is a fantastic deal in Siem reap. I have stayed here for the Angkor half-marathon 2 years running now and would be very pleased to return. The old elevators, the layout and decor are all very charming. The french restaurant attached to the hotel is good but too expensive for what you get. The in-house restaurant and breakfast included are fabulous. Well done!

Breakfast, Room, Staff and Deco

Mosquitoes at bar area besides pool.

Location-wise it's far from the Pub street where all the bars and restaurants and markets are but they are lots of tuk-tuk outside the hotel. It's about 5 mins ride and US$2/way.From the first day that we stepped in till the day we left, we were given meticulous attention...bravo! Loved the old-fashioned elevator and the breakfast is fantastic! Many varieties especially the bread...it's out of this world! We went to the french restaurant too, food is delicious, everything is perfect and we got each a complimentary glass of wine! I did a lymphatic drainage massage and it was blissful. All staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. As it is a 5-stars hotel you don't expect anything less as you get what you pay for. My husband is already checking where other Victoria hotels are, so that we can stay when we visit.

Not too central but close enough to walk into the centre of town. Great spotless rooms, wonderful sheets. Breakfast included large variety of food. Great pool. Although a resort, it was small enough to feel it was like a boutique hotel. Staff friendly and willing to help out where possible. Staff communicated very well in English and all requests were dealt with promptly.

Was rather difficult to get information on tours, guides etc. Getting to my room in the evening was a little far from the lobby area and lighting seemed a little inadequate.

Victoria Resort and Spa is a fabulous hotel. It is in a wonderful location away from the centre of town but within easy walking distance. The ambience of the hotel was lanna style with impeccable and spacious rooms. Great pool. Service of all hotel staff was first class and they really did fuss over all guests. Breakfast offered a variety of food to satisfy all tastes. The only area that I felt needs attention was the tour desk. It needs to provide a visible permanent staff member who offers guests relevant information on tours, guides etc that are on offer. The rooms also need to have that type of information made available in the rooms so that guests may make appropriate arrangements.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Close proximity to the temples and great restaurants.

A lovely hotel with a good atmosphere. Welcoming staff, good food and rooms very nice overlooking central courtyards and the pool

Departure marred by the need to use a hotel car to get to the airport for $15 per person. The hotel staff are not allowed to call outside cabs

An attractive and weloming hotel designed very tastefully in a Cambodian style. The hotel is an older building which has been renovated to an hotel. It is low rise with attractive courtyards, a good pool and attractive well maintained garden. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms adequate. The restaurants serve a good range of western and Asian food and the breakfasts are very good. The staff are friendly and welcoming. All in all it was a very positive stay and we would return to a Victoria Hotel in the future.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We easily arranged our sight seeing from the hotel tour desk.

Great location, wonderful staff and great swimming pool.

Breakfast buffet is expensive and very limited. The air conditioning was not very good.

We had a lovely stay at the Victoria Resort in Siem Reap. We have stayed at the Victoria in Phan Theit and stayed here because of the lovely time we had there. The Victoria Angkor Wat did not disappoint and was a nice home away from home during our four days in Cambodia. The only negatives were the very sparse and overpriced breakfast buffet (just go to town for breakfast) and the air conditioning took hours to cool off our room. The staff was very accommodating and responsive to these issues though. Enjoy the wonderful saltwater pool!

Travel tip : Go to FCC hotel two blocks away for great food and wonderful massages.

The pool area, the bar looking out over the pool and the trees in the middle of the hote, overall a wonderful old colonial feel to the hotel, but with all the mod-cons you could want.

We loved this hotel, our only very slight criticism would be that we thought that breakfast was a little pricey at $16 per head. We had breakfast at the hotel on the first morning but on the second we headed into town instead.

Everything was very good, but the things that we loved about the Victoria at Siem Reap were the beautiful pool area (they have a large salt water pool). The pool is easy to access with steps, has plenty of loungers and is surrounded by trees. We also loved the bar area, which has a delightful 1930's feel- fantastic for a sundowner looking out at the pool! and the lovely trees in the middle of the hotel (just outside our room) which are decorated with beautiful lights at night. A very romantic feel to the place and one of our favourite hotels anywhere to date!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a tuk tuk to the temples (i.e. rather than a taxi). It's much airier and nicer than being stuck in a taxi all day!

close to Angkor Wat, great pool

none

This is a beautiful and luxurious hotel that is close to Angkor Wat. The best part was the swimming pool which was gorgeous. It was very hot in Siem Reap while we were there and taking a day to sit by the pool and cool off in the pool every now and then was great, not to mention the excellent poolside service where we could order drinks, food, ice cream, even complimentary massages. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone who is thinking about visiting Angkor Wat and Siem Reap.
