Sometimes the warmth and welcoming friendliness of a hotel staff really stands out, and that is exactly what you can expect here.The staff here can really make a person feel at home. The courtyard also stands out as being a particularly lovely feature. This courtyard and its lovely garden greenery are done up in the classic Chinese style. On a sunny day nothing beats relaxing in the hotel with a cup of tea and taking advantage of the wireless internet and relaxing in these tranquil surroundings.The rooms offer everything you would ask for from a hotel done up in a classic style. This includes Air conditioning, a balcony, coffee maker, a safe box, Internet, an ironing board, microwave, min-bar and a bathroom that includes a separate shower and tub.A wonderful little gem of a place.

it's quite modern and has everything you would like.

the staff will help you out with anything.
very conveniently located
no entertainment in your room, it is very strange to sit in a quiet room.
be prepared to speak the name of the area in very great chinese or have it written down :) taxis can't find hutongs at all!
we first arrived late at night but the staff waited for us to arrive and they checked us in with very little pain or stress. 4banqiao is a very good break from always staying in hotels and it's in a great location, it's very close to the Lama Temple, Gujie food street (it's very cool) and is very nicely located next to a train station (around 100m walk?) everyone says hello to you in the courtyard its very good.
so if you don't want to stay in your typical hotel and are looking for a more down to earth experience try out the 4 banqiao, i had no issues!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : take a greatwall tour through Juns tours, they take you to a part of the wall that nobody else goes to http://www.hellogreatwall.cn/.

Centrally located with close access to the subway(less than 100 yds). Very quiet and peaceful with an extremly friendy, helpful staff. Rooms were small but nice with free WIFI in the room.
Because it is located in a small Hutong it was very difficult for the cab drivers to locate, even when we showed them the map on the hotel card. Need a little more variety on the breakfast menu, although very good it was the same evey day.
This is a very quaint hotel in the center of a modern city. The owners/managers were very friendly. A perfect setting after a full day of sight seeing. The court yard is beautiful with flowers, fish and even a small bunny roaming around. The rooms were small but clean. We would highly reccomend this hotel, these types of garden hotels in the Hutong are quickly disappering.
Travel tip : Great little restraunt close by Grandma's Kitchen. Subway is easy to use and the station is very close to the hotel

- again, the courtyard is indeed beautiful
- very near to the MTR Station, literally steps away
4 banqiao is indeed a VERY NICE experience in Beijing. It's the traditional style of Chinese hotel with a beautiful courtyard in the middle. The hotel staff are all very nice and helpful. Breakfast is of egg and toast. We took many pictures at the hotel. The only drawback is that it could get a bit noisy in the morning as it's very near to the people living next door. But in all, i will give it A+
