My business-leisure stay in BJ for three nights at the Crowne Plaza Wangfujing was quite productive, given that I used the Club Room privileges for breakfasts, drinks, and lots of casual and business meetings while my group was there.
The Club Floor staff was attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend paying a little more for getting a lot of privileges in return. It was well worth it.
The Hotel should put out a couple of benches, next to the ashtray stands for the convenience of guests who are smokers and can't smoke inside the facility.
Travel tip:
Be careful of the BJ taxi drivers, who may rip off a foreign tourist who does not know their way around. Make sure the meter is up and running or demand that it is running after you get into the taxi.

i love the club floor for the value of the money we paid, which was a little bit more per night but was well worth it. i had lots of breakfasts, drinks, and meetings on the floor during my three night, four day stay in bj at the crowne plaza, while my wife and her friends went shopping and sightseeing. i would highly recommend the club floor booking for this hotel.
Travel tip:
Be careful about the BJ taxi drivers who may rip off foreign tourists. Our friends who were traveling with us got charged 80 RMB from the Hotel to Tienanmen Square, which should only costs no more than 10 RMB. Make sure the Taxi meter is running.

The room was ok but smelt of smoke even though we booked in non smoking room. The location is great, it's right in middle of shopping scene and less than 2 km from forbidden city. The performance of the staff was very unprofessional seem they still needs more training on guest interaction.

Great location but not yet renovated

Really great location as it is the center of the city and very close to the forbidden city as well as the famous WangFuJing. I got the club room floor with all the club facilities including high speed internet and free Wifi. However the Wifi signal is pretty bad in my room, so I had to plug in the LAN cable on my notebook.
The room is kinda old and not yet renovated. However they keep in clean.
The Buffet Breakfast was wonderful.

We traveled in a group and everything was ok during our 5 days in Beijing. The breakfast was great, the 2 hours of happy hour everyday after all day long walking around shopping and sightseeing help us to relax and be prepared for nightlife.
Restaurant Tip:
If you have good taste and appreciate good food, DADONG restaurant is a must.

We really liked our stay at the hotel as it was close to most Beijing attractions such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square (by taxi or subway) and a Quanjude restaurant within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions as well. The Angus Grill restaurant was a bit pricey but the food was great. We also had a late flight and the staff was very accomodating to ensure the we were comfortable as we waited.
Hotel Feature Tip:
From the airport to the hotel should cost roughly between 80 to 100 CNY so avoid taking the hotel transport for 450 CNY. Also if you need a taxi, ask the staff to get a taxi for you as they will ensure that the taxi has a meter and you don't have to spend time negotiating for price. Another tip is that most Beijing attractions are accessible by the subway.

the location is both good and bad. good because it is located close to wangfujing shopping street which is always crowded.
bad because because crowded and many people, it is sometimes hard to find a taxi.
the room is just in good size, i think maybe it is just at the time of the stay but i think there was something smells.
