Days Inn Forbidden City Hotel, Beijing

Close to the main interest areas at Beijing, good service. Do not recomend accomodation in the basement, has lot of fcilities like Taxi service, Local Tours Agency exchange machine at the loby. Restaurant Services and food are very good, people from reception are kind and willing to help. The room it self is good, confortable, looks like new (from the 2nd level above) I do recomend the Hotel for any type of stay at beijing.

We enjoyed our stay at the Days Inn Forbidden city. We stayed in a budget queen room. It was in the basement but still had windows, though no elevator service...not a big deal. The food was not great, eat elsewhere unless breakfast is included, then have them make you an omelet. The room was nice and clean though it had some wear...the carpet was stained in some areas. Sheets and towels were clean, shower was spacious. It's not a fancy place, but it is nice, comfortable and clean. We were able to use our Agoda points for this stay so it was a great deal. Also, we had to change dates at the last minute and Agoda made a call to the hotel for us to work it out.

This hotel has a wonderful location. Go west one block and you are at Tianamen Square and one block east you are at Wangfujing Street, the Malls at Oriental Plaza and a subway stop. The staff were friendly and helpful. Wired internet in the room was free and there is a wireless network available in the lobby. The business center was able to print a single page for 10RMB! The bathroom was compact and modern but the thin door from the bathroom to the bedroom do not block sounds that you might make. The bed was very firm to the point of being hard - more of a Chinese bed than a softer Western bed. The carpet in my room was showing it's age with lots of stains, some fraying - definitely needed a shampoo! In summary, great value in terms of location, price and amenities.
