Brand new (2008) luxury business hotel with shopping mall, offices, apartments and Beijing’s larges state of the art cinema is also perfect for tourists.

Located in the City Center and a 15-minute walk to Tiananmen Square, near the Forbidden City and Zhongshan Park, this hotel is elegantly modern. The hotel has six hi-tech meeting rooms and complete business services. The choices are varied but all are ultra modern and comfortable. The Chinese restaurant specializes in hot and spicy Sechuan Food as well as tamer tasty food and a treat is the Four Seasons Italian Restaurant for some pasta and veal. The palm dotted lobby is a great place to relax with Chinese tea, cappuccino or a cocktail. Beijing is one of the most vibrant cities in the world and staying at The Joy City Hotel provides the perfect relaxation time.

Great place for the price/location

Not far from good food, shopping and sight seeing.

Climate control in the room didn't seem to work and ther was some rennovation/construction happing on the floor somewhere.

The hotel is very nice. My room was spacious and clean with a kitchen area to my surprise. The hotel is connected directly to a bar/restraunt that is in turn connected to the main mall area and there are walkways to several other malls. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would stay here again if/when I go back to Beijing.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : They call it a "Beer Garden" in the hotel but they only have a light and dark brewed beer that is made there.

The hotel was centrally located close to metro, shopping, and dinning. Most hotels I've stayed at in China have very hard beds, but the Joy City hotel bed was great!

The front desk was ok, but somewhat inattententive and indifferent. The breakfast again was ok, but wish they had more western selections.

The Joy City Hotel was ok, but I would not stay here again. Even though the location was good, I don't think it was a good value for the price.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Bei Hai Lake is only 3 block east of the hotel
