Novotel Peace Beijing is located centrally, close to main sightseeing areas (Forbidden City, Tien An Men Square, Meihsi Street) and also to the shopping area of Wan Fu Jing Street. Prices are at European level and acceptable for the service you get in return. Staff speak good English and are efficient and friendly.

Central location for sightseeing, clean, friendly and efficient staff.

The location is very good, close to main attractions and shopping street. Unfortunately, the weather was not clear, but the mist did give a kind of mystique as I looked out over the city.

The staff are not very attentive. I fell down while spraining my ankle in the entry hall. No hotel staff came to see me until other guests asked for help.

If Novotel could not provide free in-room Internet, tariff should not be that high. Secondly, it is too old and too far for client to walk through second floor and connect another lift to other floor.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : Reasonable in-room tariff for Internet. Need some reconstruction or material replacment.

The hotel made a convenient and adequately comfortable base for day trips around the city.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the time to learn how to use the subway to get around town. Its a flat rate person, per trip, rather than by distance or number of stops. A bit crowded, but an inexpensive way to get to most tourist areas.

My wife and I both fell sick during our stay and the hotel was able to direct us to suitable medical facilities to treat our condition. However please note that travel insurance is absolutely essential to afford such treatment.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you want to go to the Great Wall, the concierge can arrange a hotel taxi for 600 yuan for the day. We couldn't go, but I think this a good price.

A decent hotel with a nice clean bed and toilet. Definite musts for me.

  • Shopping Tip : The shopping street of Wangfujing is worth having a visit being a short walk away.
