Excellent location.

Old, needs upgrading.

Right in the centre of Beijing but quiet; excellent location, where one is accessible to the famous shopping street Wangfujing; close to Tiananmen; no far from the Capital Theatre; Art Musuem; near the subway station. Lots of restaurants nearby and many other hotels. However, the hotel needs some touch-ups, to make it more modern.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Capital theatre is nearby for those who like Chinese theatre.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel, all our request were met, our room was in the corner with windows on three sides, so we had the most fantastic view of Beijing. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast offered a huge selection of food. The staff were always willing to help and all had good english. Great place to rest after busy days sightseeing.

Lovely, loved breakfast

Expensive internet in room

This is a great deal for a great location in beijing. The satff is so helpful, they put out a wonderful breakfast buffet and cook many different things to your taste and on the spot. Coffee is great, every cup is freshly brew. I had a great stay in the very clean room, clean bathrobe with great bathroom products. The hotel also has a great french cafe with great cocktails and a outdoor area for your afternoon cocktails after long hours of walking. The consierge are incredibly helpful go out of their way to help you get where ever you need to go. The hotel also has wonderful gift shops with affordable prices, i got last minute gifts there, silk ties and litle anmal figurines.

Hotel Feature Tip : If you need internet you can get free wifi in lobby area or even better they provide 2 computers in lobby area for anyone to use free of charge. The in room internet service is too pricey.

All good. Clean, great business center, great help for directions, great internet in room but pricey, great computers in lobby for free use to anyone, great wifi in lobby.

Internet was a bit expensive for in room service. Massage therapist didn't fullfill good skills.

I stayed here for 5 nights, a very relax lobby with great views of in and out customers or if waiting for someone a perfect place for a drink. Outdoor seating cafe for afternoon cocktails or light dinner. The in hotel shops are full of great last minute chinese gifts at very affordable prices. The hair salon i used inside the hotel was a little funky but the results of just a wash and dry were fantastic and relaxing. I also had a massage in their spa but here i was not impress. In general i found this hotel a rel deal for all the amenities. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

Hotel Feature Tip : If you need a massage you shall look else where the therapist at the hotel independent massage parlor were not good. comparing with the millions for better price outside the hotel.

Excellent location, friendliness.

Needs renovation, but should maintain the old style and old charm, and different from the other neighbouring hotels.

The Beijing Peace Hotel has been my very first hotel experience in China when I visited the city in 1979. It was then a well known hotel. Jingyu Hutong used to be a narrow lane where two cars could hardly drive through parallel. Today, the surrounding is very different. I had good memories of the hotel, therefore, it remains one of the hotels I often use whenever I come to Beijing.

Restaurant Tip : Chinese dumpling restaurant at the back of the hotel and a simple northern Chinese porridge shop in Dengshikou street.

Clean, very well maintained. Friendly and courteous staff. 2 Mac internet access by front desk for quick access.

Fixed aircon temperature Temperamental hot water

Arrived late in the night, checked in by friendly hotel staff. Hotel in nothing grand but practical, lobby and lift area nicely presented and clean. Room was clean and well maintained, very happy bout that. Nice view overlooking the main street. Found the toilet a tad small but functional. Hot water seems temperamental, at times takes bout 3 minutes of luke warm water before hot water arrives. Room was slightly warm for my liking, as adjusting the thermostat lower then 21 celcius did not have any effect. Information and tour desk staff were very helpful and polite answering questions bout tourist spots and location. I like their attitude of freely offering information and advices on tourist spots, mode of transport and happening in the city. Very professional and did not try to force tour packages on us. The price we paid for the room = top bargain. As we are in the same road as higher end hotel like Peninsula and close by to regency. Shopping and food is but a 3 minute walk away. They have 2 mac computer for quick internet access adjacent to the front desk. Very convenient for quick emailing.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Very central, walking distance (15 minutes) to Forbidden city and Tianamen Square. Close by to main shopping area.

Location, close to Wangfujing walking street

Old and small room

Not convenient to get to the elevator to the wing side of my room. The room is very disappointing, it's old and small, looks like 3 star hotel, not valued to the money I spent at all. The brightness together with old fashioned of the room made me depressed and could not sleep well. The bathroom is also too small and not convenient.

Position is central to main sites, large well run, effecient, friendly staff,English is no problem, room spacious, air conditioning constant,a must in the summer months, clean with most needs catered

Difficult to fault this hotel ,wifi in room would be a bonus as they have a cable system which was hit or miss, but wifi broadband in lobby excellent and free!

Novotel Peace Hotel is situated in close proximity (10 minutes walk) from the Forbidden City,Tian’anmen Square and several of the main parks ,as well as Food street and major shopping facilities ,only a short taxi ride from other attractions around the city. This is a good choice hotel, worthy of its 4 stars; the entrance lobby sets the scene of space and tranquillity in an opulent style. The staff speak English and are very helpful, they seek to please. The room was light, clean, with Coffee and tea making facility, a good TV; it was quiet thereby enabling a good night’s sleep. Shower and bath good with fresh towels and soaps each day, room service excellent. The hotel has adequate gym facilities and a pool, a valuable asset after a long day walking the attractions. There is a massage parlour although I didn’t have time to try it out. The bureau de change is open each day till late and their rate is competitive no need to shop around! The restaurant caters for all tastes is bright clean and attractive the price reflects the hotel quality. If this Hotel fits your budget then look no further you will not be disappointed.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Food steet is just up the road and walking to Tian'anmen square go through the park that runs paralle to the main road it has a stream and beautiful bridges and the air quality is so much better.

Hotel location is good as it's at Wangfujing. Hotel staff are friendly and rooms are clean. There are also free internet terminals at the hotel lobby which enable us to do internet check-in and surf for beijing information.

The bed is hard like sleeping on the floor.

I travelled with my family of 7 consisting of kids and elderly parents. Hotel is centrally located and is close to most tourist attractions. There is a mini supermarket near the hotel which is good as we can stock up some supplies like mineral water and snacks. Our rooms were located at the other wing which is quite a long walk from the lobby. In addition, it does not have direct lift access. This caused a little inconvenience to my elderly parents. The hotel provided free extra bed for kids below 12 years old, which I thought was a wow factor. In addition, the staff gave us a bigger room for the one with the extra bed at no additional charge. The standard rooms are a little small though. Although the rooms are clean and decent, i find the bed too hard and not comfortable (it's different from firm). Overall experience is satisfactory.

Rooms were decorated nicely, and the Primere service and lounge was very good. The food in the lounge was perfect. Good location.

Shower doors do not close properly, water was all over the floor.

When I arrived I did not have my confirmation printed as it was on my Blackberry. The women at the desk was very helpful. I was able to forward the e-mail to her and she printed it from there. She left a message on my phone to let me know it arrived. Everyone that took care of me was firendly and professional. I am glad I stayed there as my friends were at the Penisula and they were not as good. Also I liked the food at the Sqaure and in the lounge. Someone was really thinking about the menu and did a good job. I have already recommended the hotel to a colleagues and she and her mother who are visiting will be staying with you guys.

Good location, service is excellent, staff is friendly and prompt service

If the hotel can offer the guest reasonable price on the breakfast, this will be even better. If the hotel can change their policy a little bit, i.e. try to the air conditioner temperature a bit lower, we will feel very ccomfortable.

My wife and I chose this hotel during our last visit to Beijing. We enjoyed our stay there, esp. the services and the condition of the hotel.

Good location incentral part of the city close to facilities.tidy clean room, polite staff

There is a change of elevator and requires to negotiate a few staires which is very inconvenient for people with luggage.

The Novotel Peace Beijing Hotelis is located centrally, close to shopping etc,the rooms are tidy the staff is polite and helpful and well informed about the activities for tourist. The main problem is the need for transfering elevataors and to take stairs at least for the wing where we were staying, which is very inconvenient for the luggage. The hotel needs to find a satisfactory solution of this problem.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The tour organisers to the great wall werevery good

Absolutely amazing stay. Staff was very helpful. Got bumped up to a suite upon arrival. Quality rooms, good floor plan, good space in bathroom. The location is a 15 min walk from two different metro stations. Walking distance from the Forbidden City. Highly recommend it for the price, probably the best hotel I have stayed in within several years.

Hotel told me via email they would book onward train tickets for me for a small fee. I had given them all the information, then they renegged. This cost me quite a bit in taxi fares and time wasted. Hotel is near the Forbidden Palace, Tiananmen Square, Beijing's most famous shopping strip and outdoor eating stalls. Hotel is well maintained and reasonably priced.
