Staying at the Red Wall Hotel in Beijing

Good location for walking to the rear door of Fobiden City and connect from there to Tian An Meun Square. Hotel is clean and offers cheap buffet breakfast around US $6. If not eating in the hotel, one can try out some local restaurants around the corner - good foods (this is Chinese, so don't expect you are eating like in your own country, be fair!)

Little bit far for walking to the subway station around 15 mins at least. Also look good in the pictures when one checks out the hotel website, so don't be surprised when one just arrives and finds out it is not the way he/she has imagined from the outside appearance.

Over all, my family and I really had a wonderful time staying in this hotel. This is a 3 stars hotel, and I saw it had offered lots of services comparing to some other 3 star hotels I have been such as salon; massage for foot and body; tour office; night club, loungh, coffee shop, restaurant with very reasonable prices etc.... Again, it is only my preference and expectation - just simple and conveniece.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walking distance to Fobiden City by entering the rear door. Also, 20 mins walk to Wang Fu Jing area. The closest subway would be the Tian An Meum East station.

the location of the hotel is great right near the forbidden city

many taxi drivers wont take you there as they don't know the hotel

The Red Wall hotel is well located near the forbidden city and tianamen square, the room is adequate i found the bathroom a bit small. the matress in this hotel is as hard as a cement slab but that can be expected in China. This is my second stay at this hotel and on both ocassions checking in was a problem the rooms were not ready and i checked in time after 15hOO I had to wait 30 minutes before i could drop my lugauge in my room. Over all the service is adequate if you want to stay at a budget hotel then i suppose you can't expect 5 star service.

it had a roof

-Inferior hotel -Smelly rooms -No elevator to my part of the room -No service to show me to my room -Deluxe??? -View on a back alley -shower leaked all over bathroom floor

I have lived in China 2 years and made the mistake of trying to book my own hotel as opposed to asking for help like I usually do. I go to Beijing every month if not more and have never stayed in such a hole. Usually I pay less and get easily much more. This hotel is sub par even for chinese standards. Those giving it positive reviews don't know China enough. You can do much much much better. The place is old, smells old. My room was supposed to be deluxe, it was a real joke, the internet was intermittent and not wireless. There was a long walk to the room, the hallway was dirty. I woke coughing incessantly the place was garbage. The shower leaked on to the floor. The room was dark...I want to stop right now, very bad memories. Warning to all, stay away unless you like getting clipped. It's your money!
