Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Huge room - very clean and well decorated
centrally located - quiet area of Dali
9.3
We had a good price for this room (around 35 euros) and so we were extremely pleased : the deluxe room is huge, the decoration (chinese style) is very nice, everything is very clean. The staff was very nice with us. There is a washing machine you can use for free, and and place on the roof to dry the laundry. Location in Dali is perfect : central, yet in a local area, quiet at night.

Value and location
Located inside Dali Ancient City, only a minute from main walking streets the large rooms are clean and comfortable.
7.7
Most enjoyable despite a local rooster crowing at dawn. Some desk staff have good English and can assist with transport and ticketing to nearby attractions such as mountain cable cars, lake cruising and temples. This is a medium sized hotel and have heard other large and supposedly top hotels are tired and overrated. Would return.

Best value for your money
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff
8.3
When we check in our hotel room was not ready so they upgrade us to a larger room. The room was huge. We had a seating area and then in the back the beds. There was a divider that separated the area. The room was also very clean, the bed a typical hard chinese bed. The bathroom was very large and clean. They did not serve breakfast but you were at the edge of a main pedestrain road so no problem getting something to eat about 10 minute walk.
The staff spoke English which we didn't expect.

This hotel was just what we needed after arriving in Dali late night after riding in a bus for 4 hours. Centrally located but tucked away in an alley, we didn't hear much noise except for a really loud rooster in the morning and a funny little mocking bird that would constantly imitate the sound of a car backing up. Pretty darn good for China I'd say…The internet was good and the staff was very nice. However, some staff member's English skills and pro-activeness were better than other's. On a few occasions it royally messed up our travel plans. Having lived in China for a few years, we should have known to be better prepared. It was a real pain to remedy, but in the end we got it sorted. Luckily there is computer in the lobby with decent internet speed where you can look up schedules and activities on your own. There are no food services in the hotel, but there are plenty of places nearby. Aside from the sometimes frustratingly slow but super sweet and friendly hotel staff, the place was great. Our room was gigantic, and so was the bathroom. Hot water was available at all times and for long periods of time. You can walk up to the rooftop and get a nice view of the town. I would highly recommend it to anybody.

a hidden gem
attractive courtyard, clean and comfortable rooms

After difficulty finding the hotel, it was a joy to pull into the courtyard surrounded by flowers and bushes. The staff was very helpful and attentive, the location was ideal for exploring the old city. We loved it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't miss an opportunity to visit the 3 Pagoda's. A little pricey per ticket, but a set aside a whole day to explore the park and all the temples and gardens.

Charming place. Good location.
Good location. Great rooms. Good service.

We had two rooms - one for my wife and I, one for my mother-in-law and kids. They were both very comfortable, clean and warm (we were there in winter). We were a 1 minute walk from the main shopping and dining area. The service was excellent - they helped us out with planning visits and transport to local areas, and spoke very good English (well the Uighur guy did anyway).
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We had a nasty experience at Cangshan Mountain. The cable car is usually 40 minutes each way - and it's probably not worth that much of your time anyway. A gale blew up when we were on the way back, and they closed the cable car, so it ended up taking 3 hours, swinging around in the wind. If you go to Lijiang too, Yulong Mountain is much better, so skip Cangshan.
