The facilities of the hotel is very good and the quality of service provided by the reception, customer service officers, waitresses/waiters in the restaurants is of very high standard. I like the outdoor swimming pool and the Athena Foot Massage the most and consider that staying in the hotel for a short holiday is really value for money.
The setting and decoration inside the room is also very good.
I also took a limosine arranged by the hotel to Shenzhen when I left. The price was reasonable and the service did save me a lot of time in transportation arrangement and travelling. This service is out of my expectation.
The view of my room is relatively poor. There's a platform outside my room so I can't see anything below but a mountain view far from my room's balcony.
The hotel did not offer my extended check out time even though I check out on weekday and the occupancy was not that full.
One of the Chinese Restaurant is quite expansive. The same kind of food offered by the Food Street on 1/F of the same building is just 1/5 of the price offered by the restaurant. I think a price adjustment is necessary though the service there was excellent.
There's less attraction outside the hotel. If it's near a beach with various kinds of water sports facilities or a decent shopping mall, it would be a paradise for short holidays.
Pullman Donguang Hotel is one of the best hotel I stayed in China so far. The concept of having all the business and recreation facilities inside one area is good, especially for busy people in Hong Kong. The service and facilities provided therein worth a 5-star rating but it's charges were just comparable to a 3-star hotel. I consider that my stay with it early this week was value-for-money. I enjoyed every facilities in the hotel, especially the swimming pools and the Foot Massage. I look forward to its SPA facilities to be provided later this year.
I have expressed my gratutide to my friend who introduced me to this hotel and I have also referred this hotel to some friends of mine. It's really a good location for the busy HK people to take a short break.
Restaurant Tip : I've been to the Dongguan Old Restaurant before I checked into the hotel. The restaurant has elegant decoration, good service and high quality food and the price was reasonable. The taxi fee from the restaurant to the hotel was just RMB9.
