Travel tip : On the 30th floor there is a good Malay restaurant

they can't communicate at all in English - very disappointed especially for a 5 star hotel
For a 5 star hotel I was very disappointed. I've stayed in 4 star hotels in Guangzhou before and it was better then this hotel. The only good part of this hotel it is next to a big shopping mall. The personal at the hotel can't speak English at all and it made my trip just more difficult. Also they are saying that thye will fetch you at the Guangzhou East station but when I arrived they said I must wait a 1hour so so before their bus will be at the station so I took a taxi aas well as with check-out I had to take a taxi to the station. They also advertise a spa but apparantly they are busy renovating this
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : just across the road was the Garden Hotel with a fantastic spa.

responsiveness of duty manager
small, dark room. drab lobby with no seating. weak fitness center, weak selection of english tv channels.
my travel plans required that i stay in the area of this hotel. I don't think it is worthy of 5 stars. the rooms are small and dark. the tv has an inadequate choice of English channels. i actually had to kill a roach in the bathroom. that is a first in 30 years of business travel. i think this hotel needs a major makeover.
Hotel Feature Tip : next door to a good supermarket and department store.
