Room was massive, it was an executive room right enough. Nice decor. Helpful staff. air condition was poor - and for a five star hotel that's not acceptable. A bit out of the way of busy areas. I enjoyed my short stay but I think that either i was expecting too much or i didn't feel the room was up to five star billing.
Shopping Tip : Great shopping a ten minute cab ride away. Cabs are so cheap. Also if you are shopping in markets they will say 50 yuan, say 10 and you might get a decent deal. Always get cabs with running meters.

The hotel is big and clean. The staff are friendly. It is close to the metro so it's easy for you to go around the city. This hotel is good for both business travellers and for families. The location of the hotel is great as it close to the metro so it's easy for you to go around the city. The hotel is big but not too busy and not crowed. Staff are friendly and mostly can speak English well. The room I stayed is big and clean.

profesional service, Spacious room, excelent garden, ATM in hotel Arriving from H.K. is like coming from mouse hole to stadium, rooms are realy spacious, a bit out of date , but still very elegant. Bathroom is excelent.
Service at the loby and concierge is profesional and friendly. They have even travel agency office where you can get all kind of tickets - train to H.K.,bus & plane. Inner garden is amazing; beatifull and well kept, same with pool.
Only week point is Continental restaurants wich is better not to visit at the end of the meal; food is often cold and not attractive. Try to be early and choice is much better.

This hotel is very nice on the outside but severely lack in guest relation skills in regards to the detail of services. When i requested for a map of the city the lady refused to give me and informed me very rudely to buy it from outside

expensive breakfast if paid at the restraunt It was my 2nd time at the hotel. The prices were even better then the last time. we were upgraded to a better room. The restraunt at the 2nd wing of the hotel is good, the only thing is they do not understand english at all. The staff, clealiness, atitude etc, were this time as good as well as previous time. The only unpleasentnace we had was a misunderstanding with the hotel was their mistake with the number of times we had breakfast.I can only recommend the hotel as one of the best hotels.
Shopping Tip : For shopping try also the small shopping center near the hotel.For traveling to Hk or HK airport try the ticket office at the hotel or at the parking of the near hotel= China/Marriot hotel.

environment and good service, and market closeby This is second time we were staying in this hotel. We love this hotel. It provides with good service, nice meals, and also a market next to the hotel. For only short time stay, it's very convenient to get some shopping done. Another good thing is it's location. It's situated at center of GuangZhou with fantastic transport access. We will definitely stay again that hotel for our future business trips.

perfect location for visits to the convention centre,friendly helpful staff. the lobby bar is a little bit expensive!! -a good hotel and will be staying there again, the restaurants are good, all amenities good and the internal garden area a very pleasant feature. there is a choice of designer label goods/clothes or bargain price gear within walking distance, and a short taxi ride to bars and clubs. the rooms have nice touches and housekeeping is efficient.
Shopping Tip : for more shopping withing walking distance, visit the marriot hotel next door.

garden and swimming pool, very good outside view, business centre, near muslim resturants and mosque, best place to live in. some room cleaning needs to be improved, hotel resturant needs to make available some muslims food and beverages, room needs international TV such as AL Jazira TV, Arab TV. First of all, I recommend this hotel for those who are looking for a comfort, luxury, entertainment, like plants and green looking, swimming pool, business centre, muslim resturants are near the hotel and can be reached within 10 minutes maximum. I realy liked this hotel and I will be back every time I am visiting Guanghzou in China. For muslim you can find a mosque near by. For businessmen, you can find an exhibition near the hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip : Always book your room for this hotel through agoda, they are trusted and lower price than the hotel itself. For muslim people, there are two muslim trusted resturants, Lebanies Resturant and AlF Layla Wa Layla Resturant and they are 10 minutes only from the hotel.

Big Rooms, very clean and tidy, very professional staff, nice big pool, close to Metro, Parks and exhibition centre Food and drinks very expensive, room can be very far from lobby and central areas due to size of hotel. After 2 nights at the Parkview square hotel the Dong Fang was definately a big improvement. The hotel is an oasis in busy Guangzhou however the food is very expensive - around 70RMB for a sandwich, also only 1 restaurant on 8th floor was open for dinner and they closed at 9:30pm. Pool Bar was not open during the day. Pool is nice and tidy but has hotel rooms on all 4 sides so you only get sun in the middle of the day. There are 2 levels of shops in the hotel but many are empty and better prices can be found at Shangxia Jui pedestrian mall which is less touristy than Beijing Pedestrian mall.
Restaurant Tip : Try the Green Island Western Restaurant in Orchid Park (5RMB entrance fee to Park). The food is excellent and the restaurant is on the lake.

Well located in the city and beautiful and relaxing gardens Some areas are a bit old and worn out The hotel is very convinient for shopping, walking, etc. Many good areas around, metro entrance very near. Fabulous huge rooms, well equipped with great bathrooms and so quiet. Free internet was a definite advantage perhaps a little far from main hub but only a AUD10 cab fare very much enjoyed our business stay.
Plenty of eating places within walking distance
the Hotel restaurant options were great and quite reasonable.

Many in-house restaurants to choose from. No longer opposite the Canton Fair Exhibition Hall
They have moved. I have stayed many times at the Dong Fang Hotel.The Bedrooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. The welcome is warm and friendly from all the staff and they are always willing to help in any way. All the restaurants provide a good selection of food styles at a very high standard. Breakfast is pretty awesome too. The complimentary bus too and from the Fair is a must.
Hotel Feature Tip : Best to get down early to obtain your free seat on the bus to the Canton Fair.

Excellently maintained.
Great location near Line 1 MTR.
Good range of food outlets within the hotel I'd like a range of pillows that will suit different needs (firm, contoured, down etc) My stay had been fantastic. Room was more than just spacious. Feels like a very comfortable cozy studio apartment with king-sized bed, sofa area and worktable. Bathroom was huge with separate bath and shower.
Attentive housekeeping was throughout the day and room is constantly refreshed. Feels great to come back to a fresh room all the time.
Staff are knowledgeable and eager to assist with every request, be it for recommendations, travel advice or assistance.
Location of the hotel for business is great with very close proximity to trade and expo area.
Around the corner is the Li Hwa Park, with great porridge and dim sum awaiting after an early morning stroll. Great range of eateries surround the hotel. From local to casual to more upscale dining all hours of the day and night.
Restaurant Tip : Li Hwa Porridge Village within the very large landscaped park is a great place to feel the real life of the locals in Guangzhou over a hot steaming clay pot of seafood porridge or 'cheong fun' with beef tendon, brisket, intestine & stomach. With a pot of 'pu erh' tea, topeed with dim sum pickings, while the entire morning away at in-park-breakfast or brunch.

Nice room, trade fair friendly, general good service of the staff Messy check-in, staff addressed my translator instead of me directly in English, messy surroundings in building 2 because of trade fair My experience was not so good, for at the check-in they couldn't find my Agoda voucher, and it took over 30 minutes before an alternative solution was found. I was glad that in the end I was offered another room, and I have no complaints about the room. It is still strange though how they lost the voucher (for after a phone call with Agoda the issue was solved, and they apparently relocated it, but this was only the next day) and I was put off by the way how at reception the guy kept addressing my translator, who had nothing to do with the hotel booking, instead of me directly.
Shopping Tip : The toy and gift wholesale market - the concierge can help you find it, and it's only 10 minutes away.
