Very good room with a lot of space as well as good restaurants.

to much traffic noise, impossible to sleep and rest all night.

Grand Royal Hotel was booked taking into consideraton the information on AGODA website: a 5 star hotel, well located and comfortable. Anyway, when I arrived there, I realized immediately that was not a 5 star hotel, even for the China standard. When I asked about to the reception people, they told me that the hotel was a 4 star and "next year" would have its standard classification increased to 5 star... The rooms were not as good as the pictures showed in the website and the location was really inconvenient, far from downtown, no metro station near - the nearest one was about 20 minutes away, by taxi. As for the service, it was ok. The employees were kind in all areas: reception, restaurant, etc.. About the restaurant, the hotel offered a good breakfast and meals well elaborated at a good price.

At any HTL of the World (+ tjis writer stays 200 days a year, fr the last 40 years at HTLs), extras are charged at the end of the stay:at Grand Royal Hotel Guangzhou it is required to maintain a plus at the daily account: in person + through the phone, this is requested on a daily rate. Poor English. Bad handling of Sight Seeing tours reservation(on my complaint, a Fruit Platter was sent to my room) Reservation included two breakfats: to assure that, it required a loud + 40 minutes discussion, which finally was granted: next morning discussion started again, +finally accepted by management.
