The rooms are clean and spacious. The lobby area s Wi-Fi enabled giving convenience for those hooked on the new media. The lobby has a very limited sitting lobby area. At any one time, one 3-4 persons can sit, especially when one section is occupied by display of mid-autumn decorations. The lounge area staff chased people away if they do not patronise them. The Holiday Inn Shifu is one of the good hotel to stay when one travels to Guangzhou. It is smacked right in the middle of Shang-Xia Jiu Road, the busiest shopping belt. It is also within walking distance from popular tourist spot. The staff are friendly and helpful. Very near to eating outlets, spa, hair salon, wet market and you name it. The prices of goods at the Shang Xia Jiu is also highly negotiable, making shopping a good experience.(80 words)
Shopping Tip : Shopping at Shang Xia Jiu is an experience. You can bargain. Otherwise, just jump into a taxi to anywhere and its convenient.

Large room with large bathroom We just stayed one night here, and arrived in the early evening and were gone fairly early. We enjoyed walking the adjacent shopping street before closing. It was my wife's first day in China and a nice introduction. Taxi took us through some great looking attractive old streets too which look good to explore at a future date. I know it's close to Shaman island and the promenade on the river.

Exec level lounge/services Smoking allowed in the hotel Had a really great stay in the Holiday Inn Shifu. We made the mistake of not having the name and address in Chinese as we left the airport so the taxi driver had trouble finding it but we got there in the end.
The location was brilliant and we loved exploring all the little side streets and pedestrian areas.
The staff were great especially the bellboys - they were very helpful at telling us where to shop and wrote everything out for us in Chinese.
The room was good (although we had to be moved from the first room as it smelled of smoke).
Overall a great stay.
Restaurant Tip : Guangzhou restaurant up the road from the hotel was excellent.

Strategic Position, near the Shang Xia Ciu Pedestrian Market, exit door of the hotel will lead just right away to the market, so its very interesting place to stay.
Do not serve good breakfast, too expensive to compare to the other restaurant near the hotel. Better have your breakfast outside the hotel. This place is recommended for stay, which the room is the same as you seen on the website, cozy & clean. Its near to the metro station (subway) only 8 minutes walk. But most of the taxi driver do not know exact road to get to the hotel, so better provide with map (taxi from airport to hotel about CNY140). Although the market is very crowded, but they keep the room quite & silent, which is good. The service is also good.
Shopping Tip : Better shop to Beijing Road which have various items chosen & the price is competitive depend on your negotiation skill.

very clean and comfortable quite a distance from the airport i have stayed at the holiday inn shiffu before and was not dissapointed on this trip.
the hoetl is very clean and comfortable and modern. the staff can be polite or a bit indifferent depending on the day.... but that's china for you.
the holiday inn is very conveniently located to a shopping area with loads of shops, restaurants etc. However, it's quite far from the airport (40mins) but then most hotels in Guangzhou are far from the airport.

near shopping malls and restaurants. The rooms are big than expected. It is quite far from the subway. The way going there looks scary at night. The hotel is not bad. It is near shopping malls and good restaurants. Beside the hotel their are lots of pet shops you can see. Hotel staff can speak english and very helpful. The room we stayed in is huge considering it is a standard room. Food in the hotel is not recommended. You should try guanzhou restaurant which is beside the hotel. Although, their is no free shuttle going to pazhou complex.

Affordable, spacious rooms, close to the traditional sights (YueXiu park, the museum, Sun Yat sen memorial), the staff was prompt in response too. Rather far from the central; shopping areas. Several train stops from TianHe shopping district, or a long and harrowing ride by taxi. The Shifu was a really awesome escape from the crazy atmosphere of Guangzhou. I booked 2 deluxe rooms for 4 nights for my husband and 2 kids. I was very surprised at the size of the room; it was huge! I had just arrived via train from Hong Kong, and our room in Hong Kong must have been a third the size of our room! It was as if all 4 of us could take up just one room. But the rooms were very value for money, especially comparing it to Hong Kong standards. It was quite a comfy room too; it made our day when the time in Guangzhou went crazy.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The hotel sits on this pedestrian mall, Shangxiajiu Lu. Whilst its bustling for the first few hours of the evening, the whole place goes dead by 11. And only some convenience stores and McD's are open. Eat early, then walk!

Newly refurbished.
Friendly and very helpful staff No money changing services. This is true for guangzhou after office hours. Great location. Right in the middle of shopping street and shops. Shops open till late. So, you can still go back to your hotel easily after shopping. Eating lane with great variety and all the delicacies just next to the main shopping street. The hotel is quite new and contemporary looking. We got a free upgrade from deluxe to a business room and the room is very spacious and nice. The staff were particularly helpful with eating places and places to visit.

Room is clean and spacious, easy access to food and shopping including a cinema just across the street. You will not get bored if you are a bargain hunter. You may not get a cab easily as most taxis may not turn into the small road leading to the hotel, unless you walk further up to the main road or arrange transport with the hotel. This is one of the best hotels for the price by Guangzhou standard imo. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Guangzhou again~

2. A bit hard to find Steps away from the main shopping street with lots to see, eat and buy, yet once you go up to the lobby, its quiet and serene. Perfect choice for holidays!
Its located downtown just a stone's throw for Shamian Island (of White Swan Fame?) where there are nice walking streets, parks and food.
You can probably spend one week in the vicinity of Holiday Inn Shifu and not run out of things to do, see or eat. From wild animal parts to modern clothing back to traditional medicine, you will find more than enough things to do daily to occupy your time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Across the road from Holiday Inn in the opposite direction from the Shopping Street is the medicinal and pets market where you get to experience normal everyday life in GZ.

I like everything about this place... Perhaps pool and gym could be better Always feel like a king in this place, extending my stay just for that... Excellent staff, incredible rooms (esp the superior or Ex Floor), good location. Sigh...
Travel tip : Laundry can be done cheaper just a few meters from the hotel...

good location, good decoration and appropriate size of room. located in a crowded surrounding . In conclusion, i think this is the one good hotel in GZ. If you love shopping, you would like it. It locates in a shopping area, there is a shopping street with less than 5 mins walk.
On the street, you could find local foods, beverages as well as fast food like McDonald's, KFC as well as Pizza Hut.
Moreover, the room was excellent!!

Its right at the door step of a shopping area and
eateries. The location is not known to many taxi . So we had a hard time reaching the place . We were pleasantly surprise that the hotel was
right at the door step of a shopping area . its convenient for us as we do not speak fluent Mandarin thus going by taxi is sometimes a problem. The hotel staff can speak good english
which is execellent and housekeeping service is also excellent. I suppose the only set back is that the hotel should also indicate their address in chinese and phone number in the website so that when its easier for visitors to
locate the hotel.
Shopping Tip : Shopping and eateries right at the door step !
