this is my 3rd times stay at jian guo hotel, i always like to stay here..
very neaar to train station as i arrived from hongkong by train only like 4 minutes walking..
Shopping Tip:
peoples park mall right accros the hotel and ikea next to hotel..

Great location but a refurbishment is required

The Hotel gets worse each time we stay there. The rooms are old, service is shoddy and breakfast is terrible. Even though I complained to management, nothing was done. Each time we stay there we have a problem with room allocation, checkout and the final bill.
We have been going to this hotel for at least 10 years and each time we go staff speak less English.
Even the breakfast now has mostly Chinese dishes and the evening buffet is virtually inedible.
Shopping Tip:
The Grandview Plaza and IKEA are close by and worth a visit. The Pizza Hut and KFC across the road serve cheap and value for money meals.

Great Location Terrible Hotel

We have been staying at this hotel for at least ten years and since the change from the Tianlun to the Jianguo, deterioration is evident each year. The rooms are old, things are broken, bathrooms are old, the breakfast is poor and the lack of ability to speak english is frustrating.
I don't know what it is about this hotel but the bookings are always a mess, with wrong rooms allocated, keys not working, etc.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Don't expect a shuttle to any trade show apart from the Canton Fair, as the Hotel does not provide this service any longer.

Great location with nice room.
LOcation is very near to MRT. Very easy to get around.

i like the hotel that it's very near to mrt guangzhou railway station. the room and the staffs are very nice. however the breakfast is a bit too chinese.

overall, the hotel met expectations. the staff was helpful and knowledgeable and most spoke english good enough to communicate. the room was clean and comfortable. location is good for business and convenient to the rail station and a quick bite to eat at the shopping mall accross the street.
Travel tip:
If taking a taxi always take an official marked taxi. There are many illegal taxis (private cars) in Guangzhou. Never get inside an illegal taxi.

good business hotel @ excellent location

saved myself quiet a lot of money and time, hitching on to the fabulous metro train network of Guangzhou,which was only a stone throw away. Hotel room was good, nice clean, with good soft mattresses hardly found in chinese hotels, Buffet spread was good, Staff fairly proficient in english,

Very nice hotel, the standard very high

i stayed at this hotel and enjoyed every moment from the food, breakfast was excellent and delicious, i was there for 4 night but i wish i could have stayed more days. i liked the bathroom which was very clean and smelling fresh, i would stay at this hotel again, next time im in Guangzhou.

The room is cosy and relax. The staff of the hotel is very polite. The location is the best of the hotel. I can reach the MTR station and train station in 5 minutes walking. I will choose this hotel again for the future visit.
