You can walk around or do the exercise at the Liu-Hua Park.

Staffs do not have service mind and Breakfast is tasteless

There is good location. There is nearby the Liu-Hua Park and Yue-Xui Park, walking around 300 M to the metro station and 150 M to the airport bus station at the Dongfang Hotel. Staffs performance is not good enough. I did not get any services from the staffs even I ask them calling a taxi for me. Breakfast is tasteless and glasses are not clean. The room is good and clean.

I have tried a couple of other hotels in Guangzhou, but for my money and the convenience (ie., easy access to the subway, to the bus/train station and airport shuttle) and the beautiful park across the street keep bringing me back. This time I was given a room at the front of the hotel, with a view overlooking the park below. It was awesome. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. There is also a convenience store and other food "gathering places" very close. Very handy. Everything about my stay was what I hoped for and needed.

None

The one difficulty I had was that in booking with Agoda, you have to present a voucher at the desk before a room will be released. As I was en route when I made the reservation, I could not print a voucher until I arrived at the hotel. I couldn't find my jump drive (where I stored a copy of the voucher) until I could search all of my bags. Then, I found it was in the wrong format for their computers (Windows Vista). It took about two hours to get this paperwork done (not the fault of the hotel....just the inconvenience of having to complete the task while traveling). I will reconsider using Agoda because of this feature. Also, we pay ahead with Agoda, and if plans change (which happens often for me), we forfeit the money that has already been paid out. In summary, there were no problems with the hotel.

The Landsman is a good deal for the money, if purchased at a discount. (Full price would not be worth the extra amount paid out). Some of the rooms have a really beautiful view of a park with a lake. It's lovely.

I have stayed here several times and know my way around the area pretty well (walking, by cab and subway). However, the lack of English speaking staff does make it a little difficult at times. I asked them to write down directions once to the bus station. They misunderstood and wrote down the name of another depot. It cost 17 Yuan to go with the cab and come back to the hotel to start over again (about $2.50 US - no real big deal, except the loss of time) .

Another time a cab driver brought me back to the hotel from the bus station. I knew it should only cost 7-8 Yuan because of the short distance. This driver went "out of his way" to take me for a much longer ride and demanded 17 Yuan instead. I tried to stand up to him (for the sake of justice; money was not the object). The hotel staff came out to listen and agreed with me that it was too much, but said I would have to pay it anyway and they would report it. I don't know if anything ever came of it. The hotel people were sympathetic, but could not help me any more than that. Still, the staff do everything in their power to try to meet customer needs. It seems there was a slight smell of cigarette smoke. Not in my room, but in the corridors. In the dining room, I only ate a few simple meals, so cannot really rate it fairly.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Sun Yat Sen Memorial is very close and is a most unique structure. It is worth a special trip to see this building which, although it is a memorial, serves as a concert hall for performances of all kinds. It is beautiful.

I LOVE the park directly across the street (Liu Hua Hu). It's one of the prettiest and most tranquil places (for me) in all of Guangzhou, and one of the main reasons I keep coming back (this was my third time here).

The hotel staff try hard, but the English is not the best. Things sometimes get lost in translation.

I chose the hotel partly because it is close to one of the bus depots. I thought I had made clear the one I wanted in order to visit a nearby to town. Apparently not. The taxi started to take me way "off course" before I noticed the error. With my own limited Chinese, the best solution was to come back to the hotel, get the correct address and start over again. It was a $17 RMB mistake, plus extra time on the road.

Shopping Tip : Walk just two blocks to the metro and you will connect you with any shopping you could ever hope to do in Guangzhou.

Location, well priced massage services, relatively good rooms, internet in room, friendly staff.

Safe downstairs.

The hotel is well located, being across the road from a large water park. The staff are helpful and suitable accommodating to western guest. There is a place to eat downstairs and a massage floor. I would recommend this to westerners who like going for walks.

Very nice hotel for the price. Its very cheap for a 4star hotel. Room was big, clean, AC, and has internet in the room.

For a 4 star hotel, I was disapointed that there was no safe in the room.

I great hotel for the price. I would stay here again whenever im in guangzhou.

good location, friendly staffs.

the lobby needs to be improved, breakfast is not that good.

The location is good, only about 10 minute walk to the metro station. The Family Mart next to the lobby is really convenient. There is also a 24 hr McDo nearby. There is also a Chinese Seafood Restaurant near the Hotel(3 minute walk) that serves great food. The hotel is clean and the staffs are friendly. We have a comfortable and wonderful stay here and will definitely stay here again.

Very nice staff, close to clothing stores, close to two parks, close to Metro, convenient 24 hour Family Mart by lobby

A bit far from the airport (about 25 minutes when traffic is minimal), breakfast not included

We booked this hotel for our family (two adults and two small children) on a stopover between flights. We arrived late in the evening and they upgraded us to a lakeview room for free. The room was clean (with minor wear on the carpets). The television reception wasn't great, but we weren't there to watch TV. We got snacks at the Family Mart convenience store downstairs. During the day, we walked around and found afternoon dimsum (expensive) at the Food Street place in the China Hotel down the street. There is also a 24 hour McD, a seafood place (less expensive) and an interesting-looking Middle Eastern food restaurant in that area. We didn't have time to explore the parks, but the YuXie Park is well known and within walking distance of the hotel. We had hoped to find a pharmacy nearby, but there was none. Overall, we would definitely consider staying here again if visiting Guangzhou. The value was high for the price!

Restaurant Tip : Go past the China Hotel for some less expensive fare. The park across from the hotel has a dim sum restaurant, but the Food Street restaurant (within the China Hotel) seemed to be the only place to serve dim sum after the morning.

Clean, pleasant, good service, good location.

no blankets in rooms.

In general the hotel is nice and clean, staff is friendly, the location is good, there is a good massage center and also a supermarket which is also good. We were disappointed that there were no blankets in rooms. We liked our stay there and when we are on a business trip again we would be definitely staying there.

Best for Canton fair/expo/exhibition - good location. Tidy and clean. Convenient store in the hotel is very good.

Hotel is a little old but acceptable as it is still well maintained. Location is average for leisure/holiday traveler.

Good value. Location is very good if you are attending expo or business travel as it is next to fair/expo/exhibition center. Not really near/convenient for walking to Metro station but OK as it will take you at least 10 minutes - walk towards McD and Dong Fang hotel (if you are from YueXiu Park metro), you have to cross a main road and hotel is next to a hospital. Staff performance is average as my expectation is not high. Hotel is clean, tidy, comfortable and spacious. The convenient store next to Lobby (Family mart) is great with good selection food/drinks etc.

Convenient, clean room

Bed too hard, poor sound

Liuhua is located in the lake, the location of the site better, and from the urban areas around the facilities, to facilitate a good business choice. Households mainly in the Mainland of China, more noisy sound of. Interior room size, clean and tidy is the biggest advantage of
