A pleasant stay at Lido Hotel
Excellent location, very close to everything; comfy & spacious rooms after renovation; helpful and friendly staff.

The location is probably one of the best in Guangzhou. The hotel is located in the heart of Guangzhou at Beijing Road, surrounded by shopping malls, restaurants, wholesale markets, cinemas, entertainment centers etc. and very close to the Pearl River with only 5 to 10 minutes walks where you can take a night cruise to enjoy the cool breeze and the colorful night view alongside.
Our room located at east wing is cozy and spacious. My only complaint was the air-con which will switch off automatically in mid night. We were informed that this is their government policy that all China hotels are prohibited to switch on the air-con if outside temperature falls below 26°C during autumn/winter seasons. Also, the upper floors of the hotel (above 24th floor) are still under renovation, thus noisy at night and early morning.
Housekeeping services is excellent. Room was cleaned everyday and toiletries replenished every day without fail. Staff is friendly and helpful. The receptionist on duty was very accommodative. Our booking was a standard room plus an extra bed. Upon our complaint of the air-con, they immediately changed our rooms to the east wing with a free upgrade to triple room.
Overall, our stay in Lido Hotel was pleasant. This is one of the ideal hotels to stay in Guangzhou if shopping is your main purpose. We will definitely come back again and recommend this hotel to others.
Shopping Tip:
Two must-go shopping districts in Guangzhou are Beijing Lu and Shangxia Jiu Lu where shops selling shoes, clothes, bags and accessories are plentiful there. Stuff at Beijing Lu is better quality and more expensive compared to Shangxia Jiu Lu. When buying stuff from Shangxia Jiu Lu, you must inspect carefully to avoid any defects as the quality is not guaranteed.

This is the second time I stay here. It is always my first choice for my trip to Guangzhou. It is really a nice place with nice staff and clean room. The hotel is on the shopping road with hundreds of shops and restaurants. This hotel is great for those who like shopping and doing business.

It was a great stay with Lido. In the middle of everything you need, surrounded by great shopping centers, public transport, eatery, and big room! We pleased with this choice and will stay at the same hotel if we have chance to go back next time.

Overall this hotel is good because the location very close to Beijing Lu and the room big enough. But I think they have to clean up the carpet. It looks dirty already. The toilet door also cannot close and no hairdryer.

It is quite a nice hotel to stay after the renovation, is clean and looked new to us. Very convenience to do shopping as the shopping centre just around that area. After shopping and take a rest for a drink at Mc Donald just nearby the hotel and a lot of "Dim Sam" around the area even at 6th floor of the hotel. A nice stay.
