Nice new renovated hotel, I would stay again!

I stayed there 2013-03 for 3 nights with friends and we used totally 3 rooms. 2 of them had also in room WiFi (was not advertised at the time of booking)
The hotel is nicely designed with really large rooms. The money value is great.
But there are also some disadvantages. The cleanliness could be better.
The shelves are cheap build and most shelf doors dont really fit. The shower has also just limited amount of hot water. If it is finished it is necessary to wait for water heat up again.
Also there is no good ventilation in the room. I could not manage to turn the air vantilation on... Now the hotel looks still new / fresh renovated, but this might change fast when the first mildew arrives because of the ventilaiton problem...

You know you've checked in to a great hotel when all you long for after a full day of shopping/visiting/sightseeing is to relax and rejuvenate back in the hotel room. That was exactly how we felt on Day 1 at the Q-City Hotel. Granted, there were a few downsides to this hotel but those can be easily overlooked. Anyway, we managed to secure the Junior Suite during a "flash promo" for about 1/4 of its rack rate. For what we were paying, we would be getting only standard rooms in other hotels. Upon stepping into the suite, we marvelled at the chic interior design and utter size of the suite (it could easily pass off as 1-bedroom apartment in downtown areas). The living room had a cosy sofa though it could have been a bit bigger, and the kitchen area had a sink for easy washing (how we wish this were true for all hotels). There was an induction cooker too, but for some reason (did not pass safety certification perhaps), it could not be turned on. The bedroom had a king-sized bed and was so comfortable that we overslept almost everyday. The bathroom was also nice, but like some reviewers said, the walls at the showering area were a bit stained - however, I felt that this was something of a minor aesthetic issue and was hardly noticeable. The only problem we found was the hot water. The water at the showers will turn cold if the taps at the bathroom or kitchen sink are turned on. The way to get around this is to use only cold water at the taps, and the hot water at the showers will not be affected. So the hotel itself was great, but what about its location and surroundings? If you're like us, who prefer to stay away but not too far away from busy areas, and still have all the important amenities and great food right below, then Q-City is perfect. Just 5 mins walk to the Yuexiu Metro station (take Exit E, located at A Thousand And One Nights Restaurant) its position in Metro Line 3 gives great accessibility to all the important downtown

Great short stay for shopping. Location was pretty ok if you dont mind walking. Room was surprisingly large and quite nice decor though a little run down. The stove was not working although we did not do any cooking. The bed was comfortable but the pillows was a huge let down, not supportive at all and ended up with a stiff neck! Front office staff was helpful though they speak very limited english. Overall might try some other hotel next time up there.
