Nice hotel decor, good location, nice friendly helpful staff. Reeasonably priced
Nice hotel, very modern and convenient. Location is great. Walking distance to shops and computer mall. I felt that the pressure on the shower was too low. A bit inconvenient when you want to take a nice long bath.

The hotel rooms aren't really bad, I was expected a 5 star service instead i discovered that the staff are more into selling than helping, view from my room was not acceptable.
Restaurant Tip : a little something for everyone.

Its location is very good near to shopping mall.
The hotel has very good facility but the staff
not well trained .
The hotel is beautiful and rooms are clean. They should train their staff to converse in proper
English and give proper details of the facility in the hotel. We wanted to use the gym as it the counter mention its open at 7 am but it was not open and dark. They also did not give proper direction to the gym leadind us to a renovated floor.
Shopping Tip : its walking distance of 20 minutes to shopping malls not as near as it says in the website !

No bar, no 24 hour restaurant, no buffet breakfast facility.
This hotel is absolutely not suitable for any foreign visitors. There is no 24 hour restaurant, no buffet breakfast, there was no bar nor any english news channel, such as cnn or bbc. Luggage stand was very poor quality, not suitable for keeping a suitcase. Overall, location is in a congested area and not easy to find by taxi

Within 10 minutes walk of Grandview Mall and within 15 minutes walk of the Tee Mall, very good value, really nice room with elegant bathroom, friendly and attentive staff
Some things (elevator buttons) don't work correctly, the pictures of the outside of the hotel are a little misleading, they had no room service at all during my stay because the Western Restaurant was closed for renovation (October 2008)
I thought it was bizarre that half of the buttons for calling the elevators just simply didn't work, and they didn't seem to be in any rush to fix them. I sometimes had to hunt for an elevator button that actually worked whenever I wanted to go back to my floor. The hotel is actually squeezed behind a shopping center, so the pictures of the outside of the hotel look nothing like the way it looks in reality because they don't depict the shopping center. But otherwise it was actually a really nice hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive. It's also right in the middle of the Guangzhou computer shopping district, so if you like computers or technology then it would be the perfect place for you. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Grandview Mall (very large shopping mall) and perhaps 15 minutes walk from the Tee Mall (even larger shopping mall). It's also just a cheap and quick 10 minute taxi ride from the Guangzhou East Train Station, but it's a little far from the real downtown part of the city, which is probably almost 10 km away. They also offered free high speed internet (wired), which was a big plus.

Staff has no knowledge about hotel operation.
The receptionist informed us that our free buffet breakfast was from 8am-11am. but the next day when we went down for breakfast at 10.25 am, we were informed that the breakfast closed at 10.30 am., meaning we missed our breakfast and in the end had to pay for our dim sum breakfast in the Chinese restaurant.
-the hotel booklet says in their English version that the hotel massage/spa service is open to 1am. but when we went for our massage at 9.50pm we were told that the place close at 9pm, because the hotel was being upgraded so a lot of operation time were changed. However, they had not changed their hotel information in the booklet. We complained to the receptionist about the buffet breakfast time that they had told us wrong. All they answered was that they were sorry about the upgrading, there is some changes going on and some staff had overlooked the matter, which we think it shouldn't happen in a five star hotel. They were not professional at all.

good location, friendly staff, nice sized rooms, excellent overall service
the one aspect that i found a bit disappointing was the absence of an english tv news channel. I brought this to the attention of the manager on duty who told me that they were experiencing some problems with a few channels and that they will sort it out very soon.
A top class hotel situated well in the heart of Guangzhou City with nearby computer plaza as well as variety of eating houses. Excellent and helpful service from the staff who speak a fair ly good share of english. Nice comfortable rooms and spacious bathrooms. I would definitley return to this hotel the next time im visiting Gaungzhou.

This hotel was at first impressive with its Egyptian theme but it soon became apparent that this was a surface glitz covering a not very efficient establishment.
