Clean, close to subway station.

It's not really a hotel, it's based inside an apartment building. We booked the hotel because it seems clean and said "FREE-WIFI", but again, we went to the hotel and there was no wifi at all, we told the staff about it and all they said was "don't know how to fix, you'll have to wait till tomorrow the engineer comes." The good thing was they had a wire for NB, but else if you only had a tab or phone to check the later schedules of the trip, you're screwed. The room was very clean, and spacious, close to the subway station, however the staff here is very quiet about everything, we had to ask them for every information ourselves. Place was not so easy to find first, and it is a bit far from the central.

quite convenient location, 7 minutes from one and 10 minutes from the other metro station, though not very obvious and therefore not easy to find when you do not know where you are going the first time you arrive (luckily guangzhou people are quite helpful, especially if you can say a few sentences in putonghua, and for a word or two in cantonese even more so).
the front desk is helpful. i needed an electric plug extension for european lap top and it was sent promptly to my room. i asked for a late check out because of business obligations (i said 12:45 and was told a 75 minute extension to 1:15 pm from the regular 12:00 noon would be free, though i still left about 12:45).
bed linen is clean, the towels, the washing basin area and the floors are ok; the room floor and the shower part and the toilet part of the interesting glass encased bathroom (divided in three) look somewhat worn out and not impeccably clean though of course not dirty, and there is a smell coming out from the sewage (which happens often all over guangdong).
there is a safe big enough for all but the largest lap tops to fit in, internet dsl and the standard (water boiling pot, hair dryer and such).
despite being on a very busy street, the noise level is ok (not perfect, but ok).
