The only thing i like abour this hotel is that they also provide bas service to the exibition at pazhou and its total free of charge.

its very noisy when u stay just beside the lift the sound od bang bang bang very time the lift mov ups & downs.

This hotel can consider as a cost saving if you are talking about budget, the surrounding is quite good also just is a bit far from the main town at guangzhou they have resturant near by even also got bar but i didn't try the hotel food cos i perfer outside just to try they're taste. Over all its ok just the sound from the lift annoying

15-20mins walk to train station and other shopping mall like Ikea and such.

The hotel elevator is very lousy and the attitude of the staff is bad.

The hotel is not very far from train station, 15-20mins away if you were to walk. however, can get taxi easily outside the hotel. The hotel staffs are not very friendly and the hotel rooms are very noisy as people talking next door could be heard clearly. During my 7nights stay there, the hotel continuously have other visitors in the hotel for some China gymnastic show and making alot of noise in the hotel by jumping up and down the bed, knocking on other people's room doors for no reason. Overall, it is not really a good idea to stay at this hotel.

Shopping Tip : Besides Ikea, basically there is nothing else

Stayed for 7nights, the hotel is bout 10mins walk from the train station (nearby to Ikea,Citic Plaza, and food can be found nearby as well)

Renovation works are on-going by some building behind the hotel and early in the morning we can hear sound of drilling hole which is very distracting. The telephone of our neighbours' room can be heard from our room.

Overall, the seven nights stay was pretty alright. Easily accessible to train station and can get taxi outside the hotel at any point of time. Room cleaning service was provided. It is also value for money if booking from Agoda were made. The hotel attendant also provide good manner service. However, point to note, the hotel bed is abit too hard, hence required layers of comforter to be able to sleep properly.

Location

Filthy, falling apart, noisy, windows don't shut, bugs in the bed, horrible stench, unfriendly staff,no facilities.

Although the hotel was very very cheap for the nights I stayed there, the experience I had made it seem like I was overpaying by quite a lot. The staff speaks Chinese only, to make that clear, and my Chinese is pretty good, though there are certain things I don't understand. The staff made me feel stupid when I couldn't understand certain words used for credit card transactions, and they yelled at me for having to repeat themselves. There is no restaurant, massage or anything as described. The whole floor is empty and heavy construction both in the hotel and it's surrounding area made it difficult to sleep even though I wore ear plugs. It was simply awful, and I checked out early.

10 mins walking to MTR and if planning to travel to HK by train, Guangzhou East Train Station at same location as MTR station.

Need to renovate hotel because walking hall and room carpets are old and dirty. Toilet vanity leaking water.

During my 4 nights stay at the Hotel, drunken shouting noise from next room at night and a child crying and banging on door very early in the morning. I'm disappointed.

The Kuangchou east station is extent where it can walk, and the person who wants to suppress it will be able to turn as the east location and price ... near the bus stop ..going to the airport.

It is cheap, so-so area, hard bed.

Japanese doesn't run. The telephone enters the room from the reception desk without fail by one degree a day why. However, it seems to be unquestionable even if it disregards it.

walking distance from railway station of about 15-20 if you know where to go.

bathroom should be improved and needs softer bed as i feel it was a sleeping on a wood with a very slim mattress on top.

This hotel is about 15-20 min walk from the railways station. Just straight up from the East railway station (if you took the bullet train from shenzen) and you will see a star hotel in front. Take right and keep walking about 100 meters away. Not close too any eating places so you would have to walk back towards the railways station where they have a few eating shop or to a shopping complex just before the railway station on the opposite side of the road. There is no shopping area around so you would have to take the taxi. So before you book a room, make sure u know what you want from this hotel. If it is shopping, then this is not the hotel for you. If you want to be near the exhibition area especially for the trade expo, then this would be the hotel for you. The room was over charged about especially for the price we paid as there was nothing to should about. Guess it was due to the trade expo i believe that prices went up. One thing i have to say is the staff was very helpful as they tried their best to help us in giving us directions but you have to be speaking in Chinese as they cannot speak English.

Hotel Feature Tip : Take the hotel card with you so that you can show the taxi driver when you want to go back to the hotel to avoid language barrier.

the hotel is affordable

needs to be refurbished

the Sheng Tang hotel is a good value for money budget hotel. The hotel itself is situated close to the bus terminal and has many restuarants close by. I tried to send an international fax from this hotel but they informed that they cant send international faxes. The room is very basic the matress is hard but that can be expected in China at most hotels.the service was friendly but comunication in english is not the greatest.

Near railway station.

Bad bathroom design. Fittings inside of room old and moldy. Internet access only in Chinese.

The hotel is run down. All the fittings are old and moldy. The way they design how the water from the bath area flows really amaze me. I wonder if the person who built or design it has ever visited any hotel toilets. When you bath the whole toilet floor will be FLOODED!! Yes my room was flooded with about an inch of water. I checked with the hotel staff and they say it is like that and later they get a pump to help pump out the water through the water outlet. Really an experience for me as an international traveler. I have not seen anything like that.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : don't take any taxi from the railway station when you exit from immigration. They charge you RMB 110 for a trip that actually cost RMB 10. Try taking it outside of the station or walk.

Location is good with a personal computer and free internet in the room are really usefull.

room is old, toilet got problem.

we arrived quangzhou at the time of the Canton fair. Hotels are blowing up the prices. We have to add some dollars again to have a room with window. The room's carpet and bed are little bit old and dirty, but fortunately they have computer in the room so we can use the internet for free. The location is ok with local food store around, nearby there is a City check in for airchina, railway station is also in walking distance. We stay only for 1 night so not much to explore

dirt cheap

you get what you pay for

Dirt cheap hotel, close to station. Tried to fob me off with a cupboard over the stairs, then chenged me to a twin with no windows. Hot and cold water, rock hard bed. Knocking shop on 2nd floor. Friends were at Westin, where the carpet in the hall was more plush than the bed.

Nightlife Tip : Macdonlds is not far

Staff was really helpfull. Was able to get a power board (universal) for my electricals.

Was given some wrong directions regarding travelling to Wuzhou. They sent me to wrong bus terminal. They need to know more about bus routes or be able to call and get advice, like other hotels.

Well my first stop in China was Guangzhou, decided to stay 3 days just to aclimatise myself to the environment. It was fortunate I came when their was an english speaking person in charge, otherwise it would have been more difficuilt. I chose the hotel partly because of the tours they offered. I think they did advertised some tours, pity it was all in chinese. When I enquired, the english speaking was not on shift, so there was no making sense whatsoever, so went ahead and explored city on my own. It is quite common to find the service staff to be all women, and the security to be all men. Guess there is no real Equal Employment Opportunity in China. I didnt get to eat thier food, so I cant say anything in that regards.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Guangzhou east rail station is around the bend, less than 5 minutes walk away. Going to Shenzhen or Hong Kong is quite easy with thier bullet train leaving almost every hour. Getting to Hotel Tip: Get the buses from the airport in. Search for what other hotels is in tianhe district, the more popular hotels have direct bus routes in, just take one of those to get into city centre, call for a taxi once you get to their hotel, taxis are literally everwhere. You will save around 100 yaun. (direct taxi trip in is 150 yaun) (bus trip in is around 10 yaun, taxi to hotel once in the city 'centre' is no more than 40 yaun. now do your maths.)
