The decor was expected for 5 star location. And staff was excellent. They provide good transportation for canton fair with limited airport pickup/drop. But the food presentation and taste and menu was not to standard that you expect for 5 star hotel and priced too high for such. In fact, many 3-4 star serve food presently well. During buffet breakfast -> you pick your coffee to your table. (stayed for 5 days) And many times, guests were going to server desk to look for silverware! I was there during trade fair and about 4 foreigners that i spoke to -- all complained of same and all were looking to eat outside. To make it worse, not much choice within 15 mins drive except McDonalds and few chinese restaurants. Restaurant Tip : Don't count on Food!

Pleasant environment away from busy Guangzhou. Pool very nice, Rooms really big. Great Western Breakfast for China. Staff very friendly Quite far from City and Train station. THis can make you feel a bit isolated. NOt easy to go shopping etc. You need to hunt for local restaurants that are around if you look. FOod in hotel very expensive Great Hotel with a holiday feeling. Has a huge Pool, massive rooms and staff friendly. FOod in hotel very expensive. Local restaurants are around, just ask the staff.
Restaurant Tip : Go eat at the Western Barbeque restaurant, 5 minutes walk from hotel at a fraction of the cost of the hotel food.

Comfort; service; facilities. A little bit far from downtown. A high level 5 star hotel! Decoration; rooms; service; shops; entertainment; restaurants... Everything 100%! Nearby, in the Phoenix Village, several restaurants. Comparing with other hotels in Guangzhou, up to now, this is the one which offers the best relation between price and quality. Highly recommended! About transportation, in front of the hotel, there is a bus stop where you can take a fre of charge bus to the city main bus terminal and, from there, you can take a bus to several places, including downtown.
Hotel Feature Tip : Take a break at hotel sauna and spa.

Impressive Building and a hotel with all you need!
Prefect rooms Food and prices are not in a prefect relation.
The food itself from the buffet is really OK I have this hotel in my list of joining again.
Hotel Feature Tip : It is a very pleasent Hotel.
Sauna is nothing for European Behaviour. Too Noisy
But in total you could really enjoy the stay .

this was my second visit in Phoeix hotel. it is a very big hotel i even had in China. Kind of Venetian macau...but of coz old version. Restaurant is serving very nice food, price is still reasonable. I would recommend people to stay for a long weekend.

It's a nice room and the garden is beautiful. The TV channel is not accordance to the provided list. We are impressed by the service and the facilities that Phoenix Hotel provides. My husband and I really like the view that we see from the balcony. The breakfast is also quite nice. We didn't take the community bus running between the hotel and Guangzhou city center. It's about 30~40 mins drive to town. We will definitely come back with parents and kids.
Travel tip : If you don't have a car, you'd better stay closer to the city where there's a subway stop.

Very camp hotel. Big Rooms. Quiet. An hour from anywhere, including Guangzhou. Food overpriced. Very camp hotel with excessive pseudo-European decoration- Venice, Rome and Austrian recreations in a very Chinese manner. Rooms large and the area is very peaceful. An hour from anywhere, including Guangzhou, either by horrifyingly dangerous taxi ride or bus. The hotel is in a soulless gated community, so no sense of local community- no local shops or restaurants.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the hotel shuttle bus and half hourly aircon bus to Guangzhou if you want to live to tell the tale.

Food is a little expensive, and for those needing to go to Guangzhou Centre, a long drive off. If you want a break from the inferno of Guangzhou City Centre, that is the place to go, but be prepared for a long drive if you need to go to back to the City centre. Food is a little expensive but you can always catch the free shuttle to the shopping mall and grab a bite to eat there.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a walk just outside the hotel and you will find which is probably a model Chinese city. Very nice surroundings compared to other places in China.

Very beautiful panorama in the window! I like this hotel for its standing far from Guangzhou city center.
A little bit inconvenient, the long-time distance from city center, but rather close to Pazhou exhibition center.
Shopping Tip : I don't recommend to go to Phoenix shopping street in the evening as there is no possibility to catch the taxi there.

Spacious room, clean, nice bathroom, huge pool, helpful staff, good breakfast buffet. High Price during canton fair, a good 40 minutes to downtown, lack of English beyond hello! The hotel property is nice. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Large rooms, very friendly staff though English is not widely spoken. When spoken it is very limited to hi and hello! One can manage! Close to the hotel there is a shopping center called the bus center, they have restaurants and laundry services also you can take a bus to downtown Guangzhou. A word of advice have everything written in Chinese so as not to end up in the wrong place.

Very quite and peaceful neighborhood 45 minutes minimum to get to down town Very friendly atmosphere, specious rooms, very good services, clean air. The only disadvantage it is far from downtown , you need at lest 45 minutes minimum to get to down town . Although the hotel provides shuttle service to shopping areas and train station but it is time consuming. I recommend this hotel.
Travel tip : Use the Hotel Shuttel to go to the train station, then you can take the metro to any where you want.

The hotel has every possible facility anyone would require on either a holiday or business trip, including a Mac Donalds in the Complex of Phoenix City, which one can access by community bus service which runs every 5 minutes around the area
