The Staff was exceptional, from chambermaid to front desk. I felt like a valued guest, not a room number. The service & the positive attitude of all personnel was terrific. The room & the hotel ambiance are 5 stars, but it is the people that make the real difference. Anyone can buy nice furniture & fittings, but the warmth & consideration of all staff was the best ever.

The White Swan is the best hotel you can find in Guangzhou. The location is tranquil, the facilities are first rate, and the hotel staff are all friendly, considerate, and dedicated to superior service. There are no language problems here, the facility is spotless, just excellent in every way.

Travel tip : "I Love Lucy" is an excellent outdoor Cafe, tree shaded & pleasant & it is right down from the ground floor exit of the hotel. A nice place to sit & drink a beer & visit with friends.

The White Swan Lobby waterfall and pond is so lovely that returning after a days business is like going on a brief visit to a lovely island.

Rooms and staff are pleasant but a comfortable reading chair would be a welcome addition to the room.

This was my second visit to the White Swan and it is my favorite hotel in China. (I travel to China 3-4times a year). Value for money is very high and everyone in the staff tries to please. A welcome adittion would be a comfortable easy chair in the room. I particularly enjoyed the river view rooms. I cannot see how any traveler, business or pleasure would not find this hotel a pleasant experience.

Shopping Tip : The nearby shops had very good selections but negotiate for at least 30% discounts. Initial prices were 25% lower than Shanghai.
