location, good english speaking staff

breakfast - not happy. breakfast does not include tea / coffe (extra pay!!!) ha ha

Very good location in Guillin for getting everywhere. Room was very basic but adequate. Had the feel of a hostel more than a hotel and we suspect more used to local clientel than foreign as the breakfast was all chinese based. We didnt eat but one other westerner there said it was OK but noithing special. Just round the corner are some excellent restaurants whose names escape me. There is a lake (from memory I think its called Swan lake) which as two lit pagodas at night and a pleasant walk way around the lake - very pretty. River cruises are only a few minutes walk away.

Clean, friendly staff, nice Chinese breakfast buffet, good TV (had Central China TV news (CCTV9) which is in English) and good AC.

not much to dislike other than our shower faucet was loose and finding the middle ground between hot and cold was difficult. No, was impossible.

We booked this hotel based on a review from a previous traveler who said "we'd stay here again" and I would say the same. It is about a 15 minute walk to the pedestrian st. where we spent a great deal of time. If you like walking, there are several parks. The evening boat trip, 4 rivers and 2 lakes, was delightful. Places to book tours are all over the place. We went on the Li River boat trip to Yangshuo for 340 yuan/pp. You can bargain the prices down. We went price comparing and finally at the last place I just simply asked "what is your best price?" (I was getting tired)...we'd seen a posted price of 450 for the same trip. Guilin is an awesome city. Yangshuo is also way cool.

Hotel Feature Tip : the lady at the tour information desk was able to book airline tickets for us. You have to pay cash.
