Fabulous views from the 12th floor; good sized rooms with many amenities; many tv channels with cable tv; professional & courteous staff Warm rooms despite air-conditioning; expensive food & drink; expensive business center The quality of this hotel is equal to that of the Sheraton but it is slightly less expensive. The location is superb as it is close to all tourist requirements i.e. restaurants, theatre, tourist attractions.
If ever I find myself in Kunming again I will definately choose to stay here.
Restaurant Tip : Great range of coffee houses a 10 min walk away serving EXCELLENT fresh coffee

Location & Friendly Staffs Smoking is allowed in the hotel including lift and lobby This hotel is consider 5 Stars hotel and the location is just at the walking distance. In front of the hotel is Lijiang. You can have night stroll along the garden and 2 units of Pagoda are very nice when the lights is on. The walking street just at 2 minutes away and you can find a lot of local food around the walking street. Nearby the walking street you can see a few art gallery.
Shopping Tip : Shopping areas just at the walking distance. The night market is abount 1 km long and open from 7 pm until 1 am. You just be able to bargain the price at the night market.

Good location for shops and restaurants, nice bar in the atrium on 1st floor Rooms not well maintained and look tired. Courteous service but staff speaks limited English and some of them could do with lessons on smiling. I choose this hotel because it is just about the only one with 5 star rating in Guilin. And it turned out to be over-rated. Sheraton may be a better choice, according to a taxi driver. Pleasant enough stay, but I am not sure if I would recommend it to a friend.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't bother with the one day city tour offered by the travel agency next to the hotel. Just ask the hotel concierge to arrange for a taxi for half a day, and tell the taxi driver to visit the main attractions. Much cheaper and more flexible. It only cost RMB50 for the taxi which also came with an English speaking guide. Entrance tickets to attractions are extra, obviously.
