Good location for shops and restaurants, nice bar in the atrium on 1st floor
Rooms not well maintained and look tired. Courteous service but staff speaks limited English and some of them could do with lessons on smiling.
I choose this hotel because it is just about the only one with 5 star rating in Guilin. And it turned out to be over-rated. Sheraton may be a better choice, according to a taxi driver. Pleasant enough stay, but I am not sure if I would recommend it to a friend.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't bother with the one day city tour offered by the travel agency next to the hotel. Just ask the hotel concierge to arrange for a taxi for half a day, and tell the taxi driver to visit the main attractions. Much cheaper and more flexible. It only cost RMB50 for the taxi which also came with an English speaking guide. Entrance tickets to attractions are extra, obviously.

The standard rooms are big approximately 350 sq ft
It has a shower and a bathtub. All the forcet are modern. The beds are very comfortable.
It is in a nice location with all the shops in walking distance. You can walk along the river in the morning. We had a inside room with no water view. It was a treat just to look at the inside surrounding with see through elevator and balcony in each floor.
Did not see the waterfall. They said it was closed for repair.

Great facilities - gym, swimming pool, sauna etc.
Charged for Wifi access
Charged when broke room key by accident - seems a bit stingy for such a cheap item
Complaints not handled well by staff
I booked this hotel for our honeymoon but was overall disappointed. The level of service from staff is mixed some very good and others not so great. We were charged for our room key when it broke - seems a bit stingy for such a cheap plastic item. The room view was great as we could see the river Li but the room itself was a bit tatty for a five star hotel

Don't hire a guide to take you on the "water system of Guilin tour" because the guides from the hotel won't get on the boat with you anyway. You can walk across the main road from the hotel to the platform and purchase the tickets yourself.
Restaurant Tip : Congee city (ask the concierge) which is 3 minutes walk from the hotel has good food and I think is worth checking out. They serve much more than congee. The custard "bao" with salted egg yolk and lots of moist butter is really yummy!

View from hotel room was great. It was convenient to shopping, close to downtown.
Slightly rough to the building of the room.
Landscape view from the hotel was the best hope. It is recommended that you stay in Guilin此処. It is also close to the duo, and is easy to buy water and snacks. Able to play until late at night, close to downtown. If you want even if you choose to stay at the Riverview Hotel. We stayed in the room, I saw the twin towers built in the Cedar Lake's scenery and landscape. The downside, said China's state-owned enterprises HOTERURASHIKUThe hotel was. Could form the basis of an overall new rich to the hotel. Also, slightly rough feel of the hotel building. The morning breakfast is very OISHIKU no KATTA. To have a meal together with the Chinese, we need some degree of immunity. (Eg, with one's fingers , take a buffet. Be taken with one's fingers once again, back in the hands. Etc ..) breakfast, let's go first. When you take a careful food.
