I agree with the tour guide that a one night stay in Hangzhou is definitely not enough to see the city and I reckon Ramada Plaza Hotel will be an ideal place to stay in in view of it's closeness to the Park area at West Lake. We found the front desk staff very courteous and helpful.
close proximity to WestLake is indeed a selling point. Also very convenient to locate local eateries and restaurants. The bell-boy was very helpful in getting us a very good guide-cum-driver who did more than agreed so we gave him a dinner treat.
It would do the hotel a lot of good if they can try to control the volume of the locals who hang out at the lobby and bellowing at the top of their voices on mobiles and in their conversations.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Ask the bell-boys to recommend a guide, esp the one that operates a news agency on the right end of the Hotel entrance.
