Very bad hotel environment

A very old hotel that seriously required major renovation. Our room is horrible with cracked wall painting,old and smelly wardrobe, dirty bathroom and carpet. We dare not use the wardrobe and bare feet in the hotel room. When we checked in the hotel, the reception did not ask for any identification of us and they sleep in the lobby hall at night. My husband commented that this is the worst breakfast he had, plain congee with can food. We will not stay again in this hotel. The best thing of this hotel is near to quite nice chinese restaurant and pubs.

Over priced and in bad need of renovation
Nice handy and quiet location

Location was the only nice thing about this hotel. Right near Westlake in quiet side street. Not many taxi drivers knew where it was eventhough we had the address in Chinese. Rooms were OK and clean but the public areas of the hotel were really bad. Dark, dirty worn out and stinking of cigarettes.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location next to the lake. We did not like our stay at the hotel. The reception did not understand English. Breakfast was very poor. And there was no hot water, which we tried to report to the receptionist, but he didn't understand English.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The West Lake is only a short distance walk but if you need to get a taxi, you caan flag one down on the busy road near the hotel.
