Built in 1921, The New Hotel is paradoxically the oldest hotel in Hangzhou, comprising four early-century European-style buildings on the edge of West Lake.

Set between Baoshi Mountain and the shores of the West Lake, three kilometers from Hangzhou city center, this period establishment brings a touch of European history to one of China’s most iconic landscapes. The several dining outlets can be perfect for a meal or to host an event or celebration.

With the waters of West Lake virtually lapping at the front door, guests can discover their surrounds on foot or join one of the many tours operating from nearby.

Clean great location.

No gym, rooms a little to small if more than 1 person.

The hotel was nice and in a very good location, directly opposite the west lake. The room was very nice (good shower / bed / amenities) although a little too small if traveling with someone. The staff were helpful, given their English was limited. The internet is slow and difficult to use.

Home Reception Location Rooms

Home-food restaurant and breakfast

Hotel very well located, away from downtown but across the lake from the west, within walking distance of the dikes and the central island (museum, restaurants). Reception staff friendly and attentive and giving advice nons. House well equipped, good standard, clean. Food & breakfast with very personal means giving the impression of wanting to finish quickly and not very attentive to customers, at least in our experience.
