Built in 1921, The New Hotel is paradoxically the oldest hotel in Hangzhou, comprising four early-century European-style buildings on the edge of West Lake. good location. dirty rooms
excellent location. good staff. very helpful

room was decent size but there was mold in the mini bar and shower. not very appealing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
must see the 1000 budda temple. easy bus ride from hotel. shangri la hotel has a good restraunt in east wing. very close to new hotel

Dirty, Run Down, Horrible Front Desk Manager

This could be a great place to stay, except the front desk manager makes a point of being rude, unaccommodating, and unwelcoming.
