This hotel is OVERRATED.& NOT worth the price!

For tourist purposes, the hotel definitely does NOT deserve all the high raking on Agoda or other leading travel sites. For the expensive price that I paid, I wished I had stayed at other branded hotels or boutique hotels right by the West Lake, e.g. Hyatt Regency.
It is a well-known fact that it’s difficult to get taxi in Hangzhou in most of the time and traffic is always bad; so you always need to walk in the city. The hotel’s so-called proximity to the West Lake is understated that it took us (2 of us young adults with normal walking speed) more than 15 minutes to get to the West Lake (please note that being at the West Lake area is different from being at the West Lake itself). For the expensive room rate that I paid, I was definitely not happy.
The hotel is decent for business purposes but it is not exactly a tourist hotel. The room is clean and big but nothing special. Forget about paying extra for a lake-view room because all the rooms have balcony; unless you will stay out in the balcony (which is not big enough for tanning) for extended period, you will NOT be able to enough much view from your room. Food quality from room service is just so-so.
Given my experience, I will definitely NOT return to this hotel. For a nice experience to the West Lake, I recommend staying at branded hotels (e.g. Hyatt Regency) or other boutique hotels that are right by the West Lake instead of right by “West Lake area”. Otherwise, you can save some money by staying at hotels in different parts of the city.

my wife have a serious cold, and i called the front desk if there is any drug store, or doctor nearby, they said there is no, but they can send the staff to the drug store (not nearby) to buy for us and it take just 15 min and it is very good care service.

Friendly Staff with Excellent service

This is our first time ever to stay in a hotel under the Wyndham chain of hotels. I must say that I am truly impressed by the friendliness and attentiveness of the hotel staff at Wyndham Hangzhou.
The moment we alighted at the lobby area, the bell boy promptly helped us with our luggages and ushered us to the check in counter.
The check in process was prompt and the reception staff are all very friendly. While I was waiting for the check in documentations ready, one of the staff had welcomed me and introduced the hotel and nearby attractions to me. I felt very pleasant and I genuinely feel very welcomed to this hotel.
This is quite different compared to the many other equivalent 5 star hotels that I had stayed before. The other hotels will usually just follow the steps, i.e. step 1: say hello, step 2: get your particulars: step 3: process your check in, step 4: tell you your room no and say goodbye.
I am also pleasantly surprised to know that while I was checking in at the counter, the bell boy waited for me with our luggage and kept my wife and my son occupied by introducing them to Hangzhou, the facilities in the hotel and the nearby attractions.
Throughout our stay, we were greeted by numerous friendly hotel staff and many of whom will be ever ready to assist us and introduce us to cafes nearby, scenic attractions around the west lake, etc.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and when we needed to loan a humidifier for our room, it was promptly arranged.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I think the staff in this hotel differentiates it from the rest of the other hotels.

It was my first time going to hangzhou and when I looked through the agoda website I found this hotel being the most higly rated by users, and with reasonable price so I decided to give it a try. It was in a very good location, and it is new for about 2 years. STaff there are all very pleasant, and the room is just fabulous with a huge and grand bed there. Other things like bathroom and hotel buffet is of standard also.

Before arrival, I called the hotel to arrange a pick-up at the airport. The concierge supervisor made the arrangement promptly and called to confirm the day before. The trip to the hotel was a very smooth one, and we were greeted by the same supervisor at the lobby. He and the staff we encountered were helpful, always with big smiles on their faces.
The rooms were very comfortable. Wi-fi working very well.
Proximity to the West Lake is also a big plus.
