Offering a glimpse at Harbin�s colonial history, this 100 year-old property is a radical departure from the usual Chinese hotel. With an interesting past that includes service as a hospital, a Soviet hostel and a Trans-Siberian Railway stopover, the Lungmen Hotel is now a classy place of stay for modern travelers looking for a comfortable bed. Rooms have been restored to their former grand state, with dark wood wainscoting, large windows and high ceilings, while furnishings are also faithful to the theme � especially evident in the dining room where an original phonograph still plays. As for location, the Lungmen is within easy walking distance of Central Street, St Sophia�s Cathedral and Zhaolin Park � the three main points to which both locals and travelers tend to gravitate, especially during ice season.

Good location. Opposite railway station but no problem. Very helpful staff but with limited English. Good room service. Great value. Liked it!
None really but would have liked a choice of non-smoking rooms.
Visited Harbin for the fantastic Snow & Ice Festival. Booked this hotel through the very efficient Agoda company and received a very good service from them. The hotel was conveniently placed with the bus stops just outside and hotel staff helped to put us on the right ones when needed. Would recommend this good budget hotel.
Travel tip : Make sure the taxi driver takes you to the Lungmen Hotel and not the Grand Lungmen Hotel, which is just around the corner. Make sure the taxi driver starts the meter as we were overcharged on our way to the hotel from the airport. Also, whenever we encountered a toll road, the taxi driver always paid this except for the one who overcharged us.
