Check-out, maids were lovely and very friendly, and spoke excellent Chinese :-). Internet set-up was free and the people who are in charge of this service did a great job in getting us a connection, not easy at first.
Dirty, old rooms. Most staff do not speak English.
The hotel was very dirty and old. I extended our stay and asked what the room rate was. They quoted me the official 490 RMB. Went on line and got it for 219 (2 single beds) and 269 (1 double bed) from sinohotel. The staff was very rude and did not want to honor this rate. After much ado, they finally agreed to it, but made us move rooms just to make things inconvenient. (This was the reason we decided to stay at the hotel another night, just so we wouldn't have to move rooms.) There is not always someone who speaks English on staff, so this means that phone calls have to be made until someone is found who does. We were charged for complimentary water after the first day! There are many better, cheaper hotels. The hotel is not really centrally located, as I thought it was. However, taxis are cheap, so it didn't really matter. The Chinese breakfast was fun, as it had lots of interesting dishes.
Shopping Tip : Down the street is a small strip mall where you can buy great dried fruit. Also there is a supermarket here which is practical.
