the rooms are very new (2008 opened) and the pool and jacuzzis (3 of them) are great Since the hotel just opened the staff is still learning.
Also the rooms are actually a long walk to the beach because the hotel is set back from the beach road due to villas between the hotel and the beach road The hotel just opened in the later part of 2008 and thus is still very new. It has an adequate health club that is open until 22:30. The pools and jacuzzi are very good but close at 22:30. The corner rooms have great views of both the sea and either the sunrise or the sunset depending on the direction you are facing.
The best feature is the hotel's location to both the airport and also to Sanya as compared to the Ya Long bay hotels - Sheraton, Marriott, Hilton.
Hotel Feature Tip : The hotel is only 6 minutes from the airport whereas the Ya Long Bay hotels are close to an hour away
Also ask the conceige to get you a taxi that goes by meter not set rates - meter rates are about half of the set rates

Brand new resort with equipped rooms and great views. Minor maintenance is a daily event causing some unwanted noise. On complaint, staff upgraded my room (appreciated) but noise continued. Concierge seem to have relationship with certain taxi drivers (who refuse to use their meters) and if you use other taxis, staff seem reluctant to help guests. I found where taxis did use their meters prices were a lot cheaper. I think the hotel has to clean up this practice for the sake of the industry and to protect customers. Indeed, one taxi driver told us the hotel (or their staff) want a cut of the taxi fee if they use their services! This hotel is probably the best value for money in Sanya. It is a large brand new resort with well equipped rooms. Restaurants are clean, reasonably priced, have basic English speaking staff and have good designs. Outside restaurants are lacking on these criteria. There is no convenience store on the resort site, so mini bar-type items and bottled water is very expensive.
Restaurant Tip : Outside restaurants - caveat emptor (they want your money, provide poor service, cleanliness is questionable and decor ranges from plastic chairs to 4 star level in some cases.
Also, getting a taxi is likely to be a hassle as they do not speak English, refuse to use their meters, and will refuse to take you unless they get their price. It's a real problem in Sanya.

- might have a nice setting in the future.
- staff members were in general friendly, greeting the guests. - staff members were completely inexperienced.
- hotel was still under construction
- basic facilities were not ready to use (Gym,Hot spring pool).
- miles to go to reach the 5* advertised level. - reception was slow and not welcoming at all, behind the reception desk it looked like a mess with private stuff laying around.
- the rooms were clean but were noisy due to the ongoing construction in both wings of the hotel, the hotel allowed us to move twice however in the third room I saw a rat at night, but was able to chase it out via the balcony door.
- a lot of small points to mention, like : no new newspapers available, reception did not take our mail, If I order a cocktail, I would expect that some nuts etc. would be served. To help to improve, I filled in a couple of times review forms, however one room service staff member was reading my review in my presence for more than one minute - how embarrassing! And I could add much more!
