Beautiful hotel by Yalong bay beachfront

a lovely stay at marriott with a great layout and maintenance. rooms are comfortable and clean. try asking for a ocean view room (may be a tad more expensive). the beach front was wonderful, sun tan beds, pool bar (service is rather slow), and restaurants are worth a go. the hotel rates are pretty pricey and one should try to research for other hotels (on the same stretch along yalong bay beach) that may provide similar standards at cheaper rates.

Great hotel, but expensive without any reasons

I booked the hotel for my sister and her family - they were on another vacation with a 3-yrs old kid. All in all they enjoyed the stay, Mariott is great chain, service was good. Amazing views, very clean beaches of Yalong Bay, good breakfast - everything is on a good level.
The point is that Hainan itself is full of Chinese who are absolutely lack of education unfortunately. Had to fly around a girl 'like an eagle' cuz every 5 minutes there were chinese dudes around her trying to touch her and yelling something in chinese with a slight smells of garlic. My neice was completely scared by that. Apart from extra attention, my family had fun there including the kid.

Service was not what you would expect from a hotel claiming to be a 5 star resort. Rooms are only average nothing special. Breakfast is the usual buffet again nothing special. Food is so over priced and not even close to being a five star standard. I paid 138rmb for a cheese and ham sandwich which looked like a 5 year old child had put it togehter. If your hungry go tp the plaza down the road its only 2 or 3 minutes in a taxi. on a positive side beach and pool is nice.

It was the 2nd time we stayed at Sanya Marriott Hotel. Hotel view is really fantastic. We loved the beach and the swimming pool. Service is quite good and the staff is also very nice. We enjoyed very much on the taste of the food in the western restaurant.

Nice to Stay in a Western Resort in China

Best location relative to the Yalong Bay Golf Club and best Kids Club in town!
As a frequent traveler in China I quickly tire of the Chinese 'sorry sir we cannot do that' attitude. The Marriott is a refreshing change from the Chinese norm - all my requests were handled immediately without question.
Ask when checking in to ensure a pleasant experience.
Hotel Feature Tip:
the kids club is unbelievable! this is not just a room, but an entire facility with multiple rooms, computers, sony playstation, tvs /dvd, a private kids pool with slide and the most enthusiastic / attentive staff. if you have kids, this is the place in yalong bay to stay.

this is a really recommendable place to stay for vacation in sanya, yalong bay. here you can find sweet and smiling faces on their staff all the time, patient to play with your kids, answering your questions and give your advise.
it's really fun to stay in marriat if you have kids, they have very nice kid's club, and have regular free activities every day, like painting, games, make sandcastle etc. it's really fun for kids, my daughter enjoyed so much.
also you can walk to the beach from hotel, if you are a football fan, you can also play football there as they have a very nice football ground...
all in all, this is a fantastic place to stay.

actually nothing special here ... anyway services and cleanliness is 5 star standard. You can find a beautiful beach just a few step from your room. it's quite far from the city.

be carefull to eat in the restaurant that outside from hotel or not far from main gate of hotel ... price is overprice for foreigners
