We choosed a deluxe sea view villa as room. the room itself was a bit disapointing. the furniture looke used, the bathroom was old, nothing modern, and finally the whole room a little bit small and nothing special. But the room was clean and the seaview outstanding!! The staff is anxious to please all the time. The Pool was very clean and very good. You can use the wooden lounger at the pool and at the beach for free and you get towels. UNfortunatly not a lot people speak english. Great is also the breakfest and dinnerbuffet. It includes several different tastes so everybody can find delicious meals. A big deal was the checking out. Because we had to leave early on the morning we wanted to check out the evening before, but that was not possible. So next day early morning, we are on hurry heading for the airport, the check out took a long time, because the hotel checked the room deeply and charged us a laundry bag (we took it) as well as a clamp (whatever happend to it) There was no time to clarify this... The Beach and the hotelplace itself is great, the rooms need to be modernized.I can recommend this place anyway!!!!

This could be a great place to stay, but you need a really good sense of humor! The desk staff speak no English, none at all so checking in is a challenge. In most modern hotels they take a credit card impression to cover incidental expenses but this hotel requires an actual credit card deposit - they take $500 out of your account and then return it at the end of your stay even if you pre-pay for the room through a company like Agoda! We had dinner in the Poinsettia Chinese Restaurant the first night - not many people in the place and half way through the meal a huge rat came galloping through the room, ran under my chair and then out the door! My friend (who speaks Mandarin) brought this to the attention of the staff - the response? "Oh yes, don't worry, we have a lot of those around here and we've been trying to get rid of them for ages! Not exactly the ideal dining experience but the food was really good! Next morning we went down for the breakfast buffet in the western restaurant - again this is a pleasant spread and you can eat by the poolside. The drawback here was getting accosted by one of the hotel staff on the way to the dining area and being told that we had eaten two sandwhiches in there the previous evening (we had been in a different restaurant) and not paid for them! Needless to say, the hotel employee was treated to a translation of some fairly blunt Anglo Saxon and given a short lecture in customer service - maybe I should send the hotel a bill. Other than this little incident the food was ok. After breakfast we were going out to tour the area and decided to drop off the dry cleaning at the desk on the way out. The desk lady told my friend that we needed to take the cleaning back to our room and call them on the phone to come and get it! As I said initially, you need a sense of humor! The room (suite) was nice, comfortable bed, carpet needed cleaning but no big deal really. Altogether a decent hotel in desperate need of extensive trainin

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the entire complex. The pool was well maintained and very inviting and we saw the staff making special efforts with the other guests children, which was great. It was a shame that the water slide was not functioning as it would have added to the children's enjoyment and experiences. we had issues with trying to get the television working late one night and within 2 minutes we had someone at our door, pointing out the (very obvious!) controls next to one of the beds. Staff were welcoming and friendly but it pays to have some Chinese language or at least a phrase book as English is limited. It would also pay to find out about tours etc as we did too late in our visit and there is a Sanya tour that leaves from right outside the Hotel. There is a mall within another complex a short walk away, if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful beach and your book. All in all a really relaing and enjoyable first time experience in Sanya.
