- Beautiful beach with lots of water sports on offer
- Lovely windy pool with lots of nooks and crannies to explore and a fantastic water-slide!
- Good Thai restaurant (+ a chinese and a korean we didn't try)
- Very quiet and peaceful with lots of nice garden - Food at the main cafe (including breakfast) is passable but not briliant.
- Staff English is weakish I think (I spoke most in my intermediate Chinese) but managers are both European and extremely helpful, friendly and accessible. We had a fantastic long weekend and this hotel and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The hotel is extremely well appointed and the location is perfect. Yalong Bay is a beautiful beach. The rooms were nice, as was the lobby/bar area. There were minor areas where the buidings and service were not as polished as other 5 star hotels I've seen, but I've certainly seen worse, and I think you're sure to enjoy yourself unless you really are a total hotel snob.
I digress, we enjoyed the hotel immensely and
would definitely go again and recommend it to friends.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : This is a true beachbum location and a good one. Watersports and diving are excellent. Don't expect to do much cultural / historical type sightseeing. The hotel is about 20 minutes drive from Sanya which in my opinion is a big plus. We went into Sanya a couple of nights to sample the local nightlife and my general advice is... don't bother. The bars seem to run from seedy to provincial, and the town is mostly grungy, smelly, crowded and extremely loud (the traffic honks endlessly). Still, if you must go, taxis are easy to find and not too expensive (50RMB each way).

Fantastic staff, good food, beautiful beach and location and lovely rooms. Breakfast finishes at ten so if your a late riser be down before 9.30 as they start to clear away at 9.45, so you feel rather rushed. Limited evening entertainment in the hotel and surrounding area. On arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a very professional and polite team of staff. The hotel foyer was amazing with an immediate beautiful view of the sea across the infinity pool bar area. We had booked only a garden room, but it was exceptional and we did not feel the need to upgrade, it was extremely clean and was spacious and had a lovely bathroom with an additonal shower on the balcony. The hotel had an extensive breakfast menu and we ate in the thai and korean restaurant and had no complaints about any of them. The gardens were really well looked after, as was the sandy beach which stretched for miles in both directions, with the most comfortable sunbeds ever. The sea was clean and safe although they do have jelly fish but you cant miss them as they are huge, and as we only saw two during our eight night stay and a local pick one up, we were not too worried. The pool area was amazing, it was deep blue and meandered through a well established garden area, creating a really relaxing atmosphere, there was also a second pool behind the fun pool and a beautiful glass fronted diving tank, for lessons in deep sea diving. Yalong bay is a beautiful bay and the climate suited us perfectly, there was a lovely breeze and although it was cloudy some days and rained one day, all day, while we were there it was always hot, so beware how hot the sun really is. This hotel is definately more suited to couples for a really relaxing holiday, one we definitely enjoyed.
Shopping Tip : Absolutely no choice when it comes to buying suntan lotion - hawaian only and factor 4 or 30 at a cost of £20 per bottle, so pack plenty.

Situated beautifully at the beach and close to shopping and restaurants.
High standard, very clean and great breakfast The service is decent. The personnel is not great at speaking English.
